Don't rule out Intellevision, they are making a comeback.

JPK 11-04-2002 04:30 PM

get a SNES :D

tootsie 11-04-2002 04:35 PM

i love my gamecube. get it and animal crossing and you can play all sors of old school nes games with it.

noyen 11-04-2002 05:22 PM

i just bought an Xbox yesterday, and i love it. hitman 2 and halo look amazing on it. and they're fun as hell to play.

there's the limited edition xbox package with 2 sega games, jet set radio future (awwesssome) and GT2002 (decent).

PS2 has the most titles on it, and has the big plus, vice city.

gamecube games are pretty quality. you got metroid and animal crossing, and the mario games, etc.

it depends what you want i guess. i'd say PS2 is the best bet because there are so many games out for it.

my favorite system is still my dreamcast. it's easy to develop on, and you can download pretty much every game released on it. i think there were about 300 games released.

i just wish i could take home my PS2 debug kit home with me. it's huge and has "tool" written on the side. and it costs about $20,000.00

:(

gamecube looks lame. basically, there's one exclusive game that MIGHT be good: Metroid Prime... and even then, I think they may have fucked that one up. go with this one if you're only allowed to see g-rated movies and you're nostalgic about the time when nintendo was all there was and had quality games to go along with shitloads of garbage.

xbox has a few games that look interesting, and from what I hear the graphics are slightly better than ps2's. you can pick up a couple of games with the system right now, some racing game and jet set radio future (lamest game ever. also, look at the back, it talks about fighting "corporate goons" and it's on the xbox! HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA).

ps2 is where it's at. devil may cry, silent hill 2, metal gear solid 2, soul reaver 2, grand theft auto 3, gta vice city... I could go on and on. plus, the games get discounted to $20 and below often. I've picked up 7 games for $20, 2 for $15 and one for $30. also, you could get the madcatz universal remote for it if you lost your tv remote (like I did).

the Sega CD was awesome. but Atari Jaguar sucked majorly.

of all the systems that died a premature death, of course the best was Dreamcast. its controller was ass, but it had some majorly awesome games.

Irrelevant 11-04-2002 05:39 PM

oh, and if i could afford all 3 systems i'd have them. of the three, i think the least appealing is the X-Box though.

my mom is getting my brother a PS2 for christmas. i'm happy, i can finally play GTA for more than like an hour.

i should check and see when the GC games are coming out. hmm. of course i'll get Metroid Prime. idunno what else. Zelda when it comes out.

Hey I resent that statement! I used to own a Jaguar and it had some excellent games. Alien vs. Predator, Tempest 2000, and uh...well i'm sure there was at least one more!

Eh. It was really a nice system for its time. It's just that Atari didn't get any support. Oh well. They gave it one last shot.

This nonsense from Mr. Lilo & Stitch himself.

There are many good systems to purchse. NES, SNES and even Genesis are top notch systems which had great games. Of all the new generation systems, I personally own a PS2, GBA and Dreamcast. I actually use my DC more than my PS2 (GTA is an exception). The Gaytendo Fagcube and Xbo.cx look like good choices alongside the DC and PS2 but if you want a big library with more games leaning towards adults, definatley a PS2. Xbox far surpasses PS2's visuals, but there aren't enough titles for that behemoth.

Ihaman 11-04-2002 10:17 PM

a geforce

No, I don't mind the kiddie games, but I'd like other games, too. I don't want to shell out $150 for a system that has 2-3 games I'd play. Jesus, I rented Stitch: Experiment 626 for the PS2. It's a mindless platform shooter, but still fun.

As for the destruction of the Zelda series... well, I've always got my PS2.

Why don't you go and get the Nintendo logo branded across your ass already?

strange_one 11-04-2002 11:49 PM

One reason you shouldn't: strange_one suggested it.

PlayStation 2 markets itself to males 14 and up. While it's the best, I wouldn't reccomend it for you since your boyfriend already has it and you don't like it.

I'd never reccomend the Fagtendo Gaycube for anyone who isn't female or under age 10, but I think it would be the right system for you. A lot of my female friends enjoy Animal Crossing, as well as Mark Ledrew.

Ihaman 11-05-2002 01:22 AM

pay no attention to rhino, he's too stupid.
nintendo has been making game systems longer than sony and microsoft combined, they'll be around longer than sony and microsoft combined and have already taken out their leading competitor (sega), along with other no-name systems.
nintendo knows what they're doing and they do it extremely well, they're innovators, and everyone follows in their footsteps.
mario kart for gamecube, alone..is worth it, so is mario sunshine. if i wanted crappy explosion action, i'd watch a jet li movie.

expect alot for gamecube, this is only the beginning.

Beautiful. and the fact that ihaman likes the system is further proof that you shouldn't pick it up.

Given your avatar, I'd say it's the right choice for you. IE: sugar-coated crap that once had it, now only has failed potential.

the PS took SEGA out. I highly doubt that cartridge-based crappola-64 did.
