Who reads horoscopes?

I get one in my inbox each day. I don't put any stock in it really, but very rarely does it clash with what's actually going on. I know they're broad enough so that there's many interpretations, but on a given day/week, horoscopes for different signs can be quite different from eachother. So when mine seems really accurate, it makes me think about it just a second longer.

Weekly ones also seem to pick up on themes/moods going on, its enough to pique my curiosity, but I'm still skeptical enough to just sort of let it be.

Does anyone follow these things closely? The implications are strange to me; that there are 12 'groups' of people, and the fact that they were born within a certain range of eachother means their experiences will have a lot in common.

It makes sense to me that long term, people born close to eachother (1980-1985 or something like that) will have similar experiences, but very long term. And that's just a product of the time they're living in. It seems far more uncanny that people born on certain dates, regardless of the year, will have similar experiences day to day. That alone is almost enough to dismiss it out of hand, but I still wonder about it a little bit.

Anyone really knowledgeable about this?

i don't think horoscopes are meant to be taken literally. i kind of view them as the little fortunes in your chinese cookie. if it means something to you, you'll meditate on that, and it will help you find your way if you're "lost".

my mom use to work for a doctor, she took care of her kids when i was little. i use to hang out there and play video games while my mom worked, because they were rich and had more games than me. the maid was an astrologer. she did my chart, or whatever, and thought it was interesting, so she liked to talk to me about her psychic business. anyways, i know a lot about that stuff. i think it's all bullshit.
its supposed to have something to do with the gravitational pull of all the planets in the solar system, and how that effects your personality.

yeah, its tough to buy into there being a correlation there. although, its the moon's gravitational pull that causes girls to have their period, and that has a hell of a lot to do with mood. still, more immediate things like your day to day experiences and interactions have a lot more to do with mood. i don't imagine that 'gravitational pull' factors into that enough to make much difference. i like to think that there's really something there, but its kind of hard to. :)

its sort of entertaining i guess, but it'd be kind of sad to really believe in it. plus, i think the people involved in the business do a lot to undermine any credibility.

Reading fortune cookies are fun, but I forget about them ten minutes later.
