Only if you add that amount to your income, I'd imagine... I dunno.

If I understand what you're asking, I don't believe the grant is taxable, but also I don't think you can use it for your deduction.

Dear Ammy,
I read your post, and I wanted to try and fix it for you. Here is the correct version:

I received a Pell grant that went directly to my tuition. Does that count as money that I paid for tuition? My friends have said "Yes". I myself am not so sure.

Have a great day.

I would highly doubt that you can apply income which is not taxable to a deduction.. it wouldn't make any sense.

ammy 01-22-2004 10:44 PM

well it wouldn't count as income, it would count as monies spent for tuition.. i think. eh.

SWEET JESUS I can't wait for you to get your badge so I can FUCKING RIP IT OFF YOUR FUCKING UNIFORM AND PIN IT TO THE WALL OF YOUR LOWER INTESTINE YOU MISERABLE SACK OF SHIT. How many times are you going to use the word "that" in completely different contexts in a single sentence? When I say "GRAMMAR TEAM BRAVO GO" they need to know what the FUCK I'M TALKING ABOUT. BE MORE FUCKING SPECIFIC. Here's a word YOU MAY HAVE HEARD OF: "WHICH". And is "tuition" a destination of some kind? NO IT FUCKING ISN'T. Use "into" if you want to imply some kind of tuition fund, or fucking "TOWARDS" or some shit. "Have said"? THIS CASE IS NOT CLOSED YOU LAZY FUCK, THIS IS AN ONGOING SITUATION AND YOU'RE TRYING TO CHANGE THE CONTEXT WHICH IS A FUCKING GRAMMAR FELONY. I'd go on but I'm too FUCKING DISGUSTED to be in the same ROOM. I'm going to get some coffee and a fucking DONUT.
