DivX / audio codec question
tryin to play a file in WMP and didn't get sound so I tried DivX Player 2.5 (all DivX is up date, I think) and it told me:
File contains the following data: Audio data: Tag 353 and it said I can either not play it or play it without sound, which defeats the bloody point of illegally downloaded media, ya think? Now I have alot of codecs (xvid, rm, divx, SVCD) on here but I ain't never seen one that said "Tag 353". What codec is that? Is that an error message? I did a google search on Audio data Tag 353 and I got random search engines that were about as useful as toilet paper in a monkey cage. So yeah, Audio data: Tag 353. Whats up with that, yo? |
Download a software called GSpot that tells you exactly what codec you need. In all likelihood, it's the AC3 Filter. Everyone who I've ever helped with this has ended up needing that software.
EDIT: http://www.headbands.com/gspot/ |
I just downloaded that about two weeks ago. I can't find the link now but try this one in case the first one doesn't work :

Re: DivX / audio codec question
That's the DivX Audio codec, you get it with 3.11 I think (as Miss Junebug has linked for you). DivX 5 isn't an upgrade to 3.11 necessarily, so you may need both
|
Divx 5 supports 3.11 video decoding, and it's an upgrade to it. But on divx sound, it doesn't as it's supported no more.

if I throw on an old 3.11 audio codec will that overwrite or otherwise mess up my 5.whatever new codec?
