yes, it is very self-orientated

however

my entire point was that life (in my eyes anyway) is about having a positive effect on as many people as one can. granted, i've set my sights pretty high, so consider it as dumb as you'd like

it's been established that i too don't care about what people choose to do with their lives

seeing how affected i am by certain things (the arts, generally), i want to be that for other people, on as wide a scale as possible
