In the early days of the telephone, operators would pick up a call and use the phrase, "Well, are you there?". It wasn't until 1895 that someone suggested answering the phone with the phrase "number please?"

When a frog swallows a meal, his bulgy eyeballs will close and go down into his head! This is because the eyeballs apply pressure and actually push a frog's meal down his throat.

If a person counted at the rate of 100 numbers a minute and kept counting for eight hours a day, five days a week, it would take a little over 4 weeks to count to one million and just over 80 years to reach a billion. |

Maybe whenever scientists find blue whales with giant squid tentacle marks on their sides, it actually isn't from epic squid-whale battles, like science currently thinks. Maybe it's just a result of those nice giant squids giving retarded whales the hugs they need to feel happy and special. It's amazing how much the natural world can parallel daycare for special children at the YMCA. |

My mate has a picture of a kangaroo on his wall that is very similar to that, it looks so manly the way it's lying and in his one it has huge balls :D Due to the fact that water expands when heated, the Atantic ocean increases in width by 3cm every year. |
for those not familiar with the highway numbering system
In 1925, the American Association of State Highway and Transportation Officials set the guidelines for numbering interstates and U.S. highways. Some of these guidelines are:
Interstate north-south routes have odd numbers, with numbers increasing from west to east. Interstate east-west routes have even numbers, with numbers increasing from south to north. Interstate highway routes have one- or two- digit numbers. North-south interstates ending with a 5 and east-west interstates ending with a 0 are typically major cross-country routes. A three-digit interstate always ends with the two-digit number of the main interstate it loops off from, except I-238. Three-digit road numbers beginning with an even number are either beltways that go around a city or freeways that go through a city. Three-digit road numbers beginning with an odd number branch off the main interstate. U.S. highway north-south routes have odd numbers, with numbers increasing from east to west. U.S. highway east-west routes have even numbers, with numbers increasing from north to south. U.S. highway east-west routes ending in 0 tend to be cross-country routes. Three-digit U.S. routes contain the two digits of their parents routes, but there is not an odd and even number system. |
