grade the last five movies you've seen

In order from least recent to most recent:

LOTR Return of the King - It was truly superb. I can't really say much more than that. A

Ma Vie En Rose (My Life In Pink) - Awww this movie was gorgeous. It was about a young boy who believes he is a girl and indulges in crossdressing and the backlash he faces from his family and his community. It really was a heartwarming tale. A -

Waking the Dead - This movie was too confused and jumbled for me to appreciate. I'll give it a C.

[Voice of a Distant Star] - The imagery was beautiful and the story very emotional but it's biggest flaw was it's brevity. It was only 25 or 30 minutes long and because of that the story seemed condensed and too jam packed. It was still beautiful however. I just wish it had been longer. If you're a fan of anime I suggest you rent this. A.

Come Undone - This French movie about two boys who meet while on vacation on a beach and fall in love was really quite touching. It shows all the activities they engage in and shows the relationship blossoming. I thought it was very well done. B +

I had seen all these before but..

Daredevil: It's cheesy but still watchable, decent action, I know tons of people say its shite but if you're chilling stoned watching a movie eyecandy is good. C+
Copycat: A decent serial killer movie indeed. A-
Fifth Element: I hadn't seen this for years, I like it though :D I like the feel of it B-
The Birds: Hitchcock is fun to watch B+
Mulholland Drive: I like David Lynch so yeah A-

Hope you had a good crimbo, I've just loaded my NX with 30 gigs of mp3s and I'm off to the wife's for a week over New Year tomorrow, so have a good new year too! :D

I saw that some time ago, what did you think about this one? I fucking hated it. Maybe it's my distaste towards romantic movies, but this one fucking made my head explode. It's the kind of movie that makes me want to scream 'THIS IS REALLY BAD' through the cinema.

My younger sister dragged me to the theater to see this and it was a million times better than I thought it would be. I thought it was going to be super cheesy for sure, even with Johnny Depp in it.

Sepiae 12-28-2003 12:25 AM

In America I just saw this today. If it is playing near you, go see it. It's beautiful, funny, heartwrenching, and touching. The acting is superb, really first-rate. ****

Mystic River Very well done and riveting, but I didn't like Laura Linney's speech. It threw off the whole movie for me. Marcia Gay Harden is one of the best actresses working today. *** 1/2

Mona Lisa Smile Silly fluff. Apparently everyone in New England in the 1950s who was upperclass had a British accent? Pretty flat, never moves beyond cliche, but has some decent moments. **

Under the Tuscan Sun I'd listen to Diane Lane read the phone book. She's always awesome. But the story wasn't fleshed out well. ** 1/2

Something's Gotta Give Worth seeing for Diane Keaton's performance. Jack Nicholson is sleepwalking and the script is overly long and Frances McDormand is critically underused. ** 1/2

That was all in the past week...wow.

Definitely not. It didn't make any sense. It was pretty ok for the most part....but there were so many things wrong with it.
