great. so my roommate lofted her bed.
 

and the only thing i liked about my bunkbed was how much privacy i got and no one could see what i was doing ie i could go to netphoria to my heart's content. well now her bed's higher than mine and shit. and she evensaid to me last night' ha ha now i can see ifyou're looking at porn' so great. now i have her looking over my shoulder whenever i'm online. ughhhhh. i'll find some way of fixing it. like a new angle to sit at so she can't see what i'm doing or some shit. or. i'll figure something out i hope. i wish icould go up on her bed just so i can see exactly what her range of vision is. she's in the shower i should do that right now but i'm scared she'll get out and see me in her bed and go wtf?

the good thing is i don't think she'll be up there much except when she wants to sleep or something. so the only problem is if i go to bed after her or wake up before her. mhm.

Hang some fabric from the ceiling around your bed, like a curtain. That'll keep her from spying on you.

Most colleges don't let you put anything up on the ceiling...like mine for example. what does "lofting" mean anyway? is it like bunking? if so, why does my school have a rule in the handbook that says "no lofting of beds"?

it's an old catholic school, the buildings are old, and i assume they make those rules to prevent fire problems.

i'm considering putting up some sort of barrier that looks like it isn't acting as a barrier rather as something functional. i don't want her suspicious of me or anything. no holes in the ceiling allowed but i could maybe tape a curtain to the ceiling. maybe. but then of course people would go 'why the curtain?' and i could say so i can concentrate better or something i don't know.

and lofts are probably illegal cuz of the danger involved in a man-made structure crushing you. yeah. for those who don't know a loft is basically a bunkbed without a bed under it.

My dorm room has drop ceilings so I used binder clips to hang black fabric shower curtains around my side and then I used a flat twin sheet as the door. (Regular curtains are too expensive and don't always keep enough light out.) I also sewed velcro to the curtains and put the corresponding end on the wall so that they would stay put. Safety pins were used to reinforce the joints where one curtain meets the next. A piece of velcro was sewn in place to keep the door shut.
