anyone taken the GRE?

How does it score? Like each section out of how many, and how many is considered shitty, ok good etc? And when they score, do they subtract points for questions left blank (like the SAT) or is it like the ACT where if you leave it blank nothing happens?

Also, how did you personally do? I have to take it friday and i'm really nervous :/

I took it last year. I'd suggest if you're going to take the test that you go buy a book for it. the test is 100 bucks a pop, screw it up and you'll shell out a lot more to repeat it vs. getting a book.
I bought a GRE prep book, and it helped me A LOT. i can't remember what it was called but it was red, white, and black.
The test scores like the SATs...... but the way they get that score is a lot different! So read the book, and you'll understand how they score it, so you'll know how to beat the damn thing.

Uum, there's 3 sections out of 800.
I got a 730 quantitative, 710 qualitative (those 2 might be backwards), and a 540 verbal. the verbal sucks ass and you won't know any of the words, so don't bother w/ it. try to learn the ideas behind the test, and do what you can, but i didn't know 98% of the words in the book, and i have a decent vocabulary
