So I'm back from LA

For anyone who gives 3 shites.

Me and my hubby managed to have a couple of big fights and nearly break up both in LA and when we got back but now everythings patched up etc etc but I know you don't care about that...

We stayed on The Queen Mary (www.queenmary.com) the whole time because my b/f's dad travelled on the ship and he's been totally obsessed with it since he was wee. Usually when it comes to historical things and what not im like 'meh whatever' but this was absolutely amazing, it was so beautiful, and I'll never be able to express in words how amazing it was to be there with John.

We went to Universal Studios there (I'd only ever been to the one in Florida) and they had the fucking delorian there!!!!! *squeals like a bitch*

Anyway we got those front of the line passes, needless to say we went on the back to the future ride, jurassic park, backdraft, the studios tour (loved seeing the house / swamp from psycho) special effects thingy, terminator 3d and wandered about aimlessly. We also popped into the Hard Rock Cafe with enough time for me to buy the cliched tshirt and see the SP guitar and U2 one and umm a couple others.. Is that one of James' guitars or just any old guitar that had been signed? And what disc is it beside the guitar? it was too high up :(

We also did Mann's chinese theater and i got my photo taken with the bruce lee star right outside which was cool coz I'm just done reading a book on Bruce Lee (which was also good; Fighting Spirit by Bruce Thomas) I also did the handprints / footprints of; arnie, bruce willis, seagull, morgan freeman, nick cage, shatner et al, jack nicholson.. sean connery.

We never got to drive down Mullholland Drive though and I never even saw the Hollywood sign which was pretty stupid of me.

We visited Tower Records and Virgin nearby but didn't really have the time or the energy for Ameoba.

We also did Venice Beach one day and umm the big street there (I'm silly) but it was a crap day and John had done his leg in so we were a bit phased and tired.

We ate on the ship most nights but I had a hotdog at joey maroni's (was that where i was supposed to go? who cares, the hotdogs were shit hot!)

Anyways, I would totally love to go back again and fully intend on saving up in an attempt to pay for it all late in '03.

I'm sorry I didn't go, we had already just been to virgin and tower and I'd already bought like 6 cds (bjork - telegram, nin - closer to god, qotsa - songs for the deaf, mullholland drive s/t, pixies - bossanova, beck - sea changes) and he was driving and was getting really cranky, he offered to pull over but I couldn't stand it anymore!

we just ate on the queen mary most nights coz they have a really nice restaurant there, and just fast foody places apart from that (as lucas says in that other thread, wendy's is definitely under rated)

im sorry .... I promise i'll go back though!

Don't be sorry, silly. I'm glad you had a great time. Glad things worked out in the end with you and your boyfriend.
