Should I go to culinary school?
 

I love cooking and I'm good at it. I cook for all the parties my roommates throw and they're always telling me I should go to cooking school. I must admit, the idea of getting paid money just to cook is tempting.

On another note, I just made oatmeal cookies. :: crunch ::

I've heard from my dad, who's done a similar thing, that the beginning of your, erm, "cooking career" is very tough and underpaid, but fun. When you become a high grade cook in bigger, better restaurants, things really get better. My nephew runs his own kitchen, and has quite a nice paycheck.

hell yes. i mean you do need a certain amount of god-given food genius to be really succesful, or maybe not what do i know, but if you really do have the magic touch then i would definitely consider it. there isn't someone you can talk to about this? like maybe you could check out culinary schools and see if they make you try out to get in or something? i'd definitely try to get into a prestigious one or something. i don't know much abotu culinary schools though. yeah. i'd try to get one in that doesn't just let anyone in. mhm. and oh i don't think you're a vegetarian are you? it's always tough to be a chef and a vegetarian i think. most chefs hate vegetarians :( mhm.

Better know what you are eating. Go with it!

There's a Cordon Bleu school here in Ottawa and I want to take classes so badly

IT's all about location, location, location. A career in the culinary arts, I mean. And on that note, catering is probably the best and most surefire way to make the big bucks.
