Bowling for Columbine

Awesome, awesome movie. Michael Moore asks the questions that everyone else is afraid to. Is he objective? No. Does he have an agenda? Of course. But he also has balls the size of grapefruits to make a movie like this. The way he skewers the likes of Dick Clark, Charlton Heston, K-Mart and Lockheed Martin is cinema gold. I can't remember the last time I went to a movie that made me laugh, made me angry and had me on the verge of tears. Moore pushes buttons like no other. He forces to you to look at unpleasent shit and deal with it.

In other words, GO SEE THIS MOVIE!

P.S. - This is the first movie i've been to in many years where the audience actually applauded at the end. It was that good.

I'm bumping because i know there are some Michael Moore fans here.

Good review.

I am insanely jealous. I also feel insanely stupid because I was in Chicago today but totally forgot that the movie was debuted tonight on Rush St.

I was at some movie within the past couple years where everyone applauded at the end...

Oh yeah Star Wars. That's a given though. Michael Moore has to work his fat Midwestern ass off for applause.

After watching the conservative response to this movie I just know it must be a doozy.

Holy shit! I was just going to post a topic about this. Michael Moore came to Cornell last April and I had the pleasure of hearing him speak. I didn't agree with everything he had to say, but he is very good at pointing out the smell of bullshit here in America. He made me start to think about things I had never thought about before. He also showed unedited clips from his upcoming documentary which is now being released this month entitled Bowling For Columbine. From what I have seen so far, the James Nichols and bank scenes are priceless. Im really pissed off that its not playing anywhere near Ithaca. If you want to check out the preview and some clips from the documentary, go to www.bowlingforcolumbine.com

Thank God someone has the balls to make films like this. They need to be seen by everyone.

The neatest thing about Moore is that he fully admits that he is not a fair and balanced source of information. If you want that go to Fox News. He even admits he doesn't have all the answers no matter whether it's a book, documentary, etc.

But he has to be respected on a certain level as one of our generation's most creative, innovative, thought-provoking artists.

The only redeeming thing that my high school economics teacher did was show us a film by Michael Moore about the GM plant closings in Flint Michigan.

Brilliant guy.

Roger & Me. That movie made his career.

Yeah, we should be getting that here this weekend. I thoroughly enjoyed The Big One and Roger and Me. Even if you don't agree with his politics, he's a damn funny guy and makes some worthwhile flicks.
