so my college career is off to an auspicious start i guess :-/
 

i dunno. i'm gonna be getting midterms back soon too and something tells me the grades won't be as good :X but heh. oh. yeah my mom isn't here so i can't show this to her so i'm showing it to u :( so maybe u will tell me how if my mom were here she'd be pleased with me or something.

except. ehm. my teacher she like gave me an 'a/a-' but like she has a lot of insults and stuff :x like they're all right and i agree with her but it's all :*( does she have to be so blunt about them? heh. and yeah. i throw qualifiers around like cotton candy :X:X:X and yeah. i always come off as informal and disrespectful which i try to fix but i can't it has something to do with the state of mind i have to be in in order to actually write any fucking paper so without further adieu :D

A very interesting paper! You present a creative thesis, which you support with persuasive evidence. You have found and highlighted some of the most important quotes from our documents that make your case. In part because of your forceful argument, you structure your paper clearly and your ideas follow logically. I found your analysis persuasive, and sophisticated. Very good work.

As for improvements to your paper, I would only have minor suggestions. You write on page two that "more than anything [Plutarch] stressed the importance of political equality." Yes, as you write in your next sentence Alexander wanted to create, "one law of reason and one form of government," but is this necessarily political equality? Some awkward phrases and sentences distract from the overall force of your argument. You also have a tendency to add qualifiers that are not necessary for your claims or may overstate your claims; finally some of your writing is a bit too informal for this type of essay.

Overall very good paper. A/A-

see? :( she's all 'i only have minor corrections' but then her like insulting paragraph is twice as long as her paragraph telling me how cool i am. and the paragraph telling me how cool i am is basically 'wow you actually have a thesis' or 'your ideas follow logically' (maybe something she's not used to the people in my class are cretins and morons ehm..)

andheh yeah most of my :-/ feelings toward it are like the cheesy sort of grade school way she tried to make me feel better about sucking or something.

except my english teacher last year writing INAPPROPRIATE in red letters didn't make me feel much better. well i deserved the inappropriate. i couldn't resist dissing brave new world i'm lame like that.

Suze, that's a great grade. Especially considering it's your first major assignment, right? and you're away from home, in a new environemnt right? That fuckin rocks. usually away from home college students suck ass the first year.
