Holy shit, I am out of shape.

I just ran on my treadmill...2 miles in 14:45....and I struggled to the shower...and my legs still feel like jelly.

Why oh why does just a couple weeks of laziness have such a drastic effect on me??? I DON'T GET IT.

In November I was in the best shape of my life. I could play entire basketball games and not feel it at all. Now I can't even run two goddamn miles.

Maybe I should start eating better or something.

*opens bottle of Pepsi*

Mayfuck 06-03-2003 05:55 PM

2 miles under 15 minutes is decent you spoiled asshole.

My only asset when it comes to athletics is my speed/endurance.

Without it I am nothing. So when I feel like total ass after running two miles, I worry.

Drinking soda about 90 minutes before running causes certain enzymes to help burn fat faster while you do cardio.

Iscariot 06-03-2003 05:59 PM

there is a runner from my old high-school who just won the state track championship in the 2-mile, 9:07.43 what a jerk

i won 2nd place in the district for cross country when i was a junior.

and just a few minutes ago i rode my bike to the store and when i got off when i got back. my legs were sore!!!

crescentfresh 06-03-2003 06:23 PM

yeah, you're not doing too shabby.

I guess I go slow at the gym. The treadmill hurts my knees, I do the elliptical trainer for about 5-7 miles and the bike for another 5-7 miles. Takes about 45 minutes.

Gah, I don't think I could run 5 miles in any amount of time now...I feel terrible.

The soccer coach has set up little training sessions twice a week every week over the summer....I don't think that'll be enough though. I'm gonna have to do more on my own. Uh-oh.

:erm

Edit: that really didn't have anything to do with anything you said. Oh well.

I hate the treadmill too though. Hm.

No sport/exercise builds cardiovascular endurance better than swimming.

running on the road is much harder on your knees that a rubber tracked treadmill.

i've played soccer since i was 5, and had a few years where my knee's were absolutely killing me. long distance bike riding at a moderate pace did wonders. i've started running along the shore @ the beach to help out w/ the knee's as well.

Yeah, I used to do long road runs every day in high school and I'm paying the price for it now. I need to find something else to do to get strong again.

yeah but that can of soda has 200 calories and running for 20 minutes barely burns 200 calories. were your fact even true, I doubt that the increased levels of fat-burning the can of soda provides wouldn't be worth it unless you work out for over an hour or so. I'd rather skip the soda and not work that 20 minutes.

Beckham 06-03-2003 10:11 PM

soda

I like soda

stumpycat 06-04-2003 01:37 AM

Umm...diet soda, anyone???

Or you know, you could just have the soda, not work out for 20 minutes, and be at peace.

Wtf are you complaining about? I couldn't even do ONE mile in under ten minutes when I had P.E. my freshman, sophomore, and junior years..(probably just laziness)

Anyho0t.. I have to get in shape too. I'll have to run 2 miles in 18 minutes once I go to Bt for the Air Force.
