well mate, I DID still read it, but it has been cancelled:( the final issue, #9, hit the shelves a couple of weeks ago, it is a real shame the book has finished, if you find back issues though I really recommend picking them up

yeah i have all of them, i though you would have jumped ship earlier. what did you think of the conclusion? i was pleased. left room for a comeback, maybe, hopefully *prays* its a shame this happened to such a good comic while fucking garbage stays all over the shelves. what other stuff out there now is like ak? quality wise of theme wise?

I thought the conclusion was bizarrely well done, I wouldn't have expected anything simple, but I wish they had more time to play with ideas.

other books that I'd recommend to you are:
Sleeper by Ed Brubaker - a very gritty crime book, has a sopranos feel to it, very dark. is up to issue 5
Gotham Central - it is a bat book but it isn't, focuses on Gotham's police life, very well-written, is up to issue 6 or 7

i heard good things about sleeper, ill check that out. was mek good? i was planning on getting it but forgot

strange_one 06-01-2003 12:25 AM

mek was ok, the problem with these warren ellis 3-issue minis is that they're too short. although he does have another out at the moment titled Reload, it is an espionage type-story, quite good. he has a few more coming out in a few months as well. Tokyo Storm Warning and Red
