Registration Status information

You have no Registration Time Ticket; you may register at any time.
You have no Holds which prevent registration.
Your Academic Standing is Academic Dismissal which prevents registration.
Your Student Status permits registration.
Your Class for registration purposes is Earned Hours (0-29).

academic dismissal for having a sub 2.0 GPA after first year without giving me academic probation or anything. ouch. what's all that nonsense about time tickets?

your time ticket is the date and time at which you can register for the next semester. schools open registration to students at different times based on their marks and numbers of credits and stuff like that. it's so first year students or their way to flunking out don't get spots in classes before higer level and/or higher achieving students who might need them. also so the registration system doesn't get flooded by thousands of students registering all at once.

That sucks. My boyfriend flunked out his first year but he was put on academic probation before they booted him and I'm thinking his GPA (it wasn't even 1.00) was lower than yours. I'd talk with your conselor or something, maybe if you're a good begger you might get somewhere.

when it says there are no holds which prevent registration... would academic dismissal not be a hold which prevents registration? it's seem like they are sending contradictory messages.

Bummer. I had Dismissal after my first year, but I came back and now I'm getting more or less straight A's.

You should contest it as much as possible, and see if they'll let you back in on probation. I didn't, and I regret it. Now I have 2 years left instead of having graduated this May.

can't say all universities are the same, but my school lets you reapply after two semesters have past.

i think 'holds' refers to monetary issues... like no outstanding fines or debts.

Coming from someone that's working for like 8$/hour with no prospect of college, that means nothing.

well, i already decided that i wasn't going to continue persuing my computer science degree so the year was basically shot, anyway. but i needed to try it to find out that it wasn't for me, so there's nothing that i could have changed.
