so, i go in for an EEG tomorrow...
this is a follow-up to those of you who read my seizure thread...yea i had a seizure... this is going to suck a hefty load of dick, because...
1) i can't get much sleep the night before, because i have to be asleep during the procedure. 2) i'm going to shit if they find out something is actually wrong with me. 3) they have to put some goop on my head. oh, what fun. i'm fucking sad. :( |
It's a tumah
|
What does the sleep have to do with it? Do they wait for you to drop off and then wheel you into the scanning room, whispering 'shhhhh!' to anyone they encounter? And hey, there's always netphoria to keep you awake.
Look at it this way man - even if they do find out there's something wrong, there are different degrees. Even if it turned out to be really serious, the sooner you know the sooner something can be done about it. And then of course, they could discover there's nothing wrong at all. Just don't assume negative things. And the goop on your head - free hair gel! |
much thanx for makin me smile... you rock DeviousJ.
and yea, i'm curious about the same thing you are... wtf with the sleeping thing man? i'm pretty sure it's to get better readings on the brain waves, because it's more active whilst you are sleeping... but what the hell are they gonna do? wait for me to fall asleep. it might take awhile. anyways, i'll keep ya people who actually care updated. much love to those who are supporting. :warp: |
good luck man, seriously. :(
|
let's hope for the best. Good luck.
|
Good luck. I had one after my one dirtbike accident (brain hemorrhage). They suck, it is so hard to try to fall alseep when the girl is watching you and you have metal pins digging into your head. But yeah, hope it's ok.
|
awww :( my friend had a similar test. well he was my friend until he had one of his seizures, randomly started dancing on the table and kicked my face
|
Hope all is well. That must be scary and nervewracking
|
the reason you have to be asleep is your brain wave patterns are different when sleeping, and different when awake ... beta and theta brain wave states (it's been a long time since i did my neuro-psych papers ... too long)
or something along those lines elctroencephalogram - recording of the electrical activity of the brain made on a moving strip of paper by an electroencephalograph |
dadadaaaaa... update...
k.
i went in and it was kinda cool. the doctor was really goofy. it looked like i had multi-colored dreds in. there were a few flashes of light too... wow. i didn't even fall all the way asleep and he was like, "OK, good job! you're done!" i'm like... "ehhh... okay." so, it wasn't all that bad, except for the fact that i didn't get enough sleep, and i'm still catching up. i'm dead ass tired. i get the results monday (hopefully), so i will update you all again. oh yea, and my blood test results are supposed to come in around then too. they look for a chemical that is released when you have seizures, so hopefully, shitz normal. i'm out, G'NIGHT! |
