Trump is doing all this shit to perpetuate the "deep state", "I'm a martyr" narrative for his inevitable TV station, which is the whole reason he ran for president tin the first place.
Fox viewership is down 40%. Even Tucker Carlson is saying UFOs existing is more likely than Trump getting screwed by election fraud. So yeah he's trying to keep this charade rolling for his inbred worshippers in order to pay those astronomical debts, not to mention the legal fees resulting from the court cases that'll keep him busy for the rest of his life. SDNY has already signaled more investigations starting even just this month on top of the 7 that have been confirmed for 2 years now. |

Robert Reich's explanation of Trump's new PAC and why he's filing all these bogus election lawsuits. Just a con to fund his presidential life
|
It's reassuring to learn that, even were Trump able to convince Republican state legislatures not to certify their election results, the idea of him being able to steal the election is essentially impossible. There's really no path forward for him. Even through the judicial route, a Trump-supporting Supreme Court would be totally powerless to help him.
|
should we start a "When will trump be indicted" thread
|
My guess is that he won't be indicted on any of the federal criminal investigations, regardless of whether there's evidence of wrongdoing. Even though the Justice Department's policy of not indicting sitting presidents will no longer protect him, I think that Biden will quietly encourage them not to move forward purely because of optics. Former presidents being imprisoned often happens in authoritarian states where leaders seek to punish their political opponents, and even if Trump is guilty, Biden won't want to create the image that he's using the executive branch to exact retribution on Trump. Openly admitting the corruption of the previous president would also embarrass the government on the world stage and undermine the image they wish to project.
As for the state-level investigations, they probably aren't going to be held back by such concerns. The case being pursued by Manhattan's DA must be real spicy, considering all the subpoenas and the fact that they've been willing to wait out Trump's term. And then there's several non-criminal civil suits for defamation, many of them related to rape allegations against Trump. As so many of the leads for the fraud, laundering, and tax evasion cases sprung out of the Mueller investigation, I have to wonder if they would have been investigated at all had Trump never been president. Winning may have been the worst thing to ever happen to him. |
LOCK HIM UP! LOCK HIM UP!
|
|
On top of the usual reasons for going easy on former presidents, a full investigation at the federal level would only hamstring any current administration as countless figures across the entire political spectrum become tied up in what would make the Mueller investigation look like a holiday town traffic report.
|
I think that if there's criminal wrong doing within an agency, the Feds should investigate and prosecute. Whether they go after Trump is another story. Federal appointees and employees aren't protected if the President gives them an order to break the law.
|
True. And if they are convicted, having that occur after Trump's term will mean that he won't be able to pardon them, like he's done with Flynn-Flam.
"Barr behind bars" has a nice ring to it. |
He'd be disBarred, too, the bulldog-faced piece of shit.

Word on the street is Biden's foot was just diagnosed with Alzheimer's. It's beginning.

Even Trump's lapdog is acknowledging that Trump lost fair and square.

Note that he entrenched the investigation of the Russian investigation, establishing a Special Counsel a la Robert Mueller at about the same time as making those less Trump-friendly statements, ensuring that the DNC election meddling narrative will extend into Biden's term regardless.

A court ruling made public Tuesday indicates that federal prosecutors have been pursuing an investigation into potential bribery in connection with an effort to secure a pardon from President Donald Trump, although details of the inquiry remain murky.

Flynn and others are calling for Trump to do a dictatorship and use the military to "suspend" the constitution
|
I don't think enough Americans believe Trump's lives for there to truly be anything approaching a "civil war," but I think that we will definitely see instances of political violence motivated by support for Trump in the coming months.
