MyOneAndOnly 10-06-2020 09:22 PM

It’s not really hysteria when the state legislatures in question have already started proceedings that would make this possible

It was only a mere 20 years ago that a partisan vote from the Supreme Court decided a presidential election

Unless there is an absolute landslide, this election could very likely be a disaster even worse than that

ovary 10-07-2020 11:18 AM

i didnt say he was an idiot, i said he was disorganized. i haven't seen any nonhysterical or nonhypothetical reporting that state legislatures are seriously moving to do that or would have any political success if they did.

duovamp 10-07-2020 02:39 PM

Trump is extremely ignorant. He’s unread and his only interests are vanity and indulging himself. Beyond that, he hasn’t read a book in 40 years, or one complete news article. He isn’t unintelligent, but he says and does extremely stupid things constantly. He has a basic vile cunning, but otherwise he blurts out half-formed idiotic thoughts because he lives in an insane fantasy world.

Run To Me 10-07-2020 02:48 PM

It’s an interesting question. Imo he has a rare genius for self promotion and manipulating the press using scandal and base emotional appeals. Beyond that i have no doubt he is remarkably unintelligent as to basic facts and data and other aspects of what most of us call reality

Run To Me 10-07-2020 02:48 PM

oops - thanks dad

ovary 10-07-2020 04:42 PM

i think his intelligence is at manipulating people and getting people to follow him and trust him. that's how he got elected and how he keeps getting loans after so many bankruptcies.

If Trump wasn’t stupid he wouldn’t have stared directly at the eclipse and he would have been more careful about covid given he’s an overweight man in his 70s. He’s not the dumbest person around by any means but he does a lot of idiotic things.

Musca domestica, otherwise known as the common housefly, is known to be a mechanical vector of pathogens. That's a fancy way of saying that the bacteria, viruses, fungi and parasites flies carry can transmit infections to humans, hence our natural aversion to them.

ninsp 10-08-2020 12:38 PM

The fly thing is terribly fucking stupid. Our bigger concern here should be that Kamala got destroyed in the debate by a fundamentalist piece of shit.

duovamp 10-08-2020 12:39 PM

Destroyed? Hardly.

ninsp 10-08-2020 01:30 PM

Ok

MyOneAndOnly 10-08-2020 01:48 PM

nisp must only watch Fox news

killtrocity 10-08-2020 02:49 PM

How could you watch that and come away with the impression that Mike Pence won? Particularly on covid and climate change.

I'm not some Harris groupie. She was like 8th in my primary list. But like what plane of existence are you occupying where she isn't a master of speechcraft? Unless your worldview boils down to PENCE GODLY HARRIS SATAN

If you're left of Bernard Sanders, like myself, listen to your uncle and quit being a child. Willy Wonka can't be president, because we live in a real world where politics is a duopolistic market, and the old guard hasn't died off yet. Or course if folks under 30 fucken voted we wouldn't even be here

Joey Goldberg 10-08-2020 04:50 PM

neither really "won" but it's def telling that all anyone could come away from the Pence side of things with was a fuckin' fly landing on his head - a far step away from "Trump can't denounce white supremacists" to say the least!

Tim Heidecker was an appropriate replacement for George Conway, it turns out.

I’m voting for Biden and while obviously I agree with Harris and not Pence I’m just saying on a basic level of sheer quality of debate, she was horrible.

redbreegull 10-08-2020 10:58 PM

I’m not sure how it’s possible to think she did worse than Pence unless you’re just being a contrarian asswi oh wait

buzzard 10-08-2020 11:13 PM

What are we measuring on, here?

Joey Goldberg 10-08-2020 11:14 PM

Pence was too good on his bullshit game to "lose," making it seem like Team Trump was on the side of anti-COVID since day 1, among other things, despite the fact that we all blatantly know it's not the truth - unfortunately the unbelievable majority of their supporters continue to not actually give a fuck about the facts & very happily eat up whatever those 2 decide to tell them on a day to day basis

many of the things you'd think would work against a candidate do absolutely nothing to diminish the stature of T & P amongst conservatives, who are not worried about the shortcomings of those 2 so much as they are actually deathly afraid of "wHaT wIlL wE dO?????" if the Democrats win. i'm glad to see a whole lot less nitpicking on the Biden & Harris campaign (from Dems, that is) because that would assure another victory for Trump whereas now there at least feels like there's some sort of chance

MyOneAndOnly 10-09-2020 12:49 AM

Just because Pence told lies really well and didn't break character, even with a fly on his head, doesn't mean he was a good debater.

Did you ever take debate in school? If you lie for 45 minutes will lose.

That's not good debating.
