In the States, this is showing exclusively on CBS's dumbfuck streaming service, so I'll never see it

But it looks pretty fun and I hope it ends up better than it sounds like Discovery turned out

i pirated it cause I already pay for Netflix. Pretty sure whatever judge ruling about my case gonna be like yeah but he already had fuken netglic.

yeah first ep was pretty good I would say. not a fan of the CGI and the ship effects look like the phantom menace but other than that I enjoyed it.

I loved it. I suggest watching the last "Short Treks" as well, cause it acts as a 10min prelude to the Picard series.

I have my fingers crossed right now for a Capt Pike series. They seem to be hinting at it, cause several of this winter's Short Treks episodes involved Pike, Spock, and Number One.

those effects were, at least, average for their time. the effects in Picard are bad and very fake looking. I would take the special effects from the 90s shows over this for sure

since enterprise, every star trek has just entirely ditched real effects and models and it sucks dick

i coincidentally started rewatching The Next Generation a few weeks ago, midway through season 3 now. looking forward to checking out Picard after this

Wife and I have done this as well. Just watched The Best of Both Worlds, which will probably come up at some point with Picard.

I liked it well enough. TNG, especially in the movies, always seemed very Picard-and-Data-centric, and I kind of wish they hadn't gone right back to that well for this (even though Data was always my favorite). I was also sighing heavily toward the beginning at the tired "frail-looking young woman has been programmed to be an ass-kicking superweapon" idea, but at least there's, I dunno, more to it than that in her case, maybe?

I dunno, kinda mixed feelings. If reviews continue to be good, maybe I'll get a free trial at the end and watch it all in a week.

The second episode felt quite obvious and a bit flat. Still beautifully presented visually, but fairly plodding in terms of plot.

i don't know anything about any of this but i really wish they'd left out the "Star Trek" & simply called it "PICARD"
