how many hours of sleep do you get?
I will accept both real and fake answers.
I'm getting 5 hours, sometimes 6, per night. I feel like I can't function, like this. But should I harden up? Maybe it's possible. |
I usually get 4-6 hours.

I get an average of 5-6 going back probably 15+ years at this point. I wonder if sleep deprivation negatively affected my brain development during adolescence

GODDAMN |
maybe it's the combination of no sleep, and parenting a teenage boy, that makes it feel unmanageable
I expect him to be smarter than he was last year, when he was 12. especially because he has size 15 feet, is taller than me, and his voice has dropped but somehow, he's stupider than he was this time last year |

yes but when the comma renegade drops a comma in a renegadish fashion, what is that comma called?
answer me that, if you can. |

but now, here we are, despite my terrible influence, he is apparently normal. teenage boys have been my sworn enemies for....all of my life, pretty much. My husband this morning blamed my high school yet again for filling my head with feminist propaganda. I went to an all girls government high school, two blocks away from the first parliament in the world to grant women the vote, in 1893. So you had better believe we were force fed information about how men had us in corsets and married off at 14, and how women starved themselves to death and threw themselves in front of racehorses because men were terrible, beating us up, spending their paycheques on alcohol, etc. and the sacrifices of our suffragette sisters meant that we could now be part of the political process, so that all women can be free of the tyranny of patriarchy My husband this morning asked me if we were ever told about the virtues of men and my honest response was "What virtues?" and he was like "Yeah, exactly." I have been unimpressed with 13/14 year old teenage boys my whole life and I don't know how to turn this around. I guess...he does offer to carry the groceries for me. Gotta focus on those positives |
Like 6. It is definitely not enough.

My husband is a size 14, so my son was fitted with bigger shoes than my husband, for the first time, back in August, shortly after his 13th birthday. That's a weird feeling. He's still shorter than my husband though. |

Saturdays are sport days and they can be the worst - if a game starts at 8:00 and they have to be there at 7:30, and it's a 30 minute drive away, AND they need to eat a big breakfast and have time to digest it, I need to be up at 5:30am. It's nuts. |

probably bigger than most of the guys at netpho i'm out on a limb here making wild predictions unsupported by any evidence i might as well be a teenage boy |
Can’t decide whether i wanna chime in re sleep feet or sons
|
wow. getting up at 530 on the weekend. that's rough. i don't think i would make a very good mother.
at least you are nearing the finish line, right? i mean once they're off to college it should be smooth sailing. |
