Did you see this one?

FoolofaTook 07-25-2018 12:24 PM

oh man that was incredible. sacha fucking pwns in this role.

is the dictator any good? haven't seen that one yet.

staying in palestine and eating hummus reminds me of this classic:

My Dad emailed this to me last Thursday. Said it was hard to believe they were actual U.S. politicians.

I was like...well, not that hard

vixnix 07-25-2018 12:35 PM

I haven’t seen dictator, his schtick gets a little hard to digest at times. And the stories around Borat were kind of sad.

He’s a rich jerk who likes making fun of people, and even if the people he makes fun of deserve everything they get, it still feels kind of exploitative somehow. I enjoy a lot of his work but it makes me uncomfortable somehow.

FoolofaTook 07-25-2018 12:36 PM

you really think all he's doing is making fun of ppl?

oh i had kind of given up on him after Borat (that movie I enjoyed), I think I saw a few minutes of the dictator and gave up quickly, just thought it wasn't funny.

His power is definitely in getting people to say absurd shit like they mean it and he sure got that back on the new one. I mean I love it when gun-crazy republicans are made fools of, but even then it was hard to watch for me.

I think that's what makes it good though.

No no, I think he does a lot more than that, he’s a live action troll really isn’t he? He does a great job of exposing people for what they really are, which is why the Bernie Sanders bit is just funny and not shocking.

But what drives him to do this, is being a rich jerk who enjoys making fun of people. He comes from enough privilege that he can do this kind of thing for a living and not worry about the consequences. People like that rub me the wrong way.

Yeah I agree...it’s good but just hard to watch and I don’t really like the guy.

This kinderguardians shit blew my mind though. I mean it’s important stuff, that he’s doing. Bringing attitudes like this into the light. I guess i just prefer the Louis Theroux approach or something like that. But maybe Louis Theroux wouldn’t be able to show how bad things are at the top, the way Sacha Baron Cohen does.

smashingjj 07-25-2018 01:12 PM

fair enough.

This new Israeli character reminds me of Freddie Mercury after surgery or something, which is no surprise since he was going to play in that Queen film

MplsTaper 07-25-2018 01:21 PM

Already a fan and haven't even see a full episode. One right wing Georgia lawmaker down though.

Run To Me 07-25-2018 02:59 PM

I’ll never forget the time sacha baron cohen subjected a packed theater of my midwestern biblebelted countryppl to the image of a naked, windmilling phallus the size of a semi-truck, which then pointed right in our faces as the mouth of the glans mouthed the word “Bruno”

For that alone i will always root for him, can’t wait to watch this new sht

Run To Me 07-25-2018 03:00 PM

Also that time on the ali g show when he posed the timeless query: “techmology: wot izzit?”

smashingjj 07-25-2018 03:03 PM

I forgot that Ali G actually interviewed Trump

I think what Cohen does is exactly the sort of thing people should be doing with their privilege. To me, it doesn't really matter how much privilege you have when you pull his sorts of stunts, that just determines how likely you are to live to tell the tale.

fuzzyroes 07-25-2018 09:16 PM

The problem with the new show as I've seen it in the first 2 episodes is that it seems that most of the guests are aware that they're taking part in a satire show.

The only segment that seemed legit was where he was at a council meeting proposing to build a mosque. That was fucking hilarious!

See, that's what I mean, there's no way that guy isn't playing along, well aware that it's a satire show.

WHY DOES EVERYTHING EXIST IN A VACCUUM FOR YOU

myosis 07-25-2018 10:13 PM

well he's wearing so much make-up that i'm surprised he wouldn't catch on

buzzard 07-25-2018 10:19 PM

Meanwhile, fuzzy doesn't realize that the characters in FUBAR are satirizing him.

vixnix 07-25-2018 10:24 PM

I mean he looks terrible, but, not to speak ill of the dead, I mean...nobody thought they were in some kind of parody video just because they were being interviewed by Joan Rivers

smashingjj 07-25-2018 10:28 PM

I really thought that was going to say Freddie Mercury

Alright, well the guy doing the little pre-school gun video had to have known they were taking the piss with him... At least I hope so.

I dunno... I'm always skeptical about these types of shows regarding whether the guests are aware or not that it's a satire show... I mean Dick Cheney signing the waterboarding bottle... He knew what kind of a show it was... I mean you had a ton of Republicans that did Stephen Colberts old show. They all knew he was taking the piss, but did the show anyways... They're not morons.

Like they had some "The Bachelor" contestant featured on the show, and she seemed like she was just fucking around and having a laugh.

Cohen also has a role on the show where he does I guess an Alex Jones type of host but more of a hick and he does the interview in one of those little scooter things. So you see a guy like that and he's got this big professional TV crew with him, I dunno, seems obvious it wouldn't be legit.

reprise85 07-26-2018 12:02 AM

those videos are hilarious

it was only a matter of time until fuzzy gave his own special view on the matter

Shallowed 07-26-2018 01:15 AM

He's not resigning for real, he's just taking the piss.

PuzzledMuzzle 07-26-2018 02:13 AM

Lets hope Palin resigns just like that Georgia dude. I have a feeling hers is worse, if that's even possible.

PuzzledMuzzle 07-26-2018 02:14 AM

Also, Sacha Baron Cohen is an absolute mastermind to have orchestrated this shit and get them to say/do all of this. Can't believe they fired him from that Freddie Mercury movie.

I am pretty sure I have genital herpes. About 2 weeks ago when I was urinating I thought I had a pimple because it felt strange but I felt down there but there was nothing there. The feeling went away and then a few days later I felt a little pain and looked in the mirror and had what looked like a scratch or sore, a long oblong shape, near my vaginal opening. I never saw a blister but it could have been there. A few days after, it burned when I urinated for 2 days and it is now almost healed and gone. I am now having what I think is a urinary tract infection, back pain, chills, slight fever, and bubbles in my urine. I assume this is herpes related but it seems strange that this started when the other sore went away. I thought maybe I had herpes in my cervix or urinary tract but I have no discomfort, itching, or pain, it has never hurt to urinate (other than over the 1 sore).

I do not have medical insurance and just can't afford to go the the dr right now. On the whole I'm feeling pretty good. I did have unprotected sex with 1 person about 30 times in the past year and this has been the first symptom of herpes I have had but I also have HSV1 so I thought I would not have a primary genital outbreak. My partner says he has not noticed anything unusual but I know many people experience no symptoms. I'm not looking at it as the end of the world just an inconvenience and I could be much worse off.

Damn, that sounds serious. You should get that checked up.
