You are brother. Always remember this, you're the one running the show, not your mind or emotions. You decide what to think about and how to live your life, you're in complete control... Don't be under any illusions that your baseline emotions are running you or that you need to be a slave to them.

But it takes work to be in command of your thoughts and feelings. It takes a lot of mental exercise. Just never forget that you're running the show of your mind... This sounds like common sense to a lot of people, but honestly, a lot of people forget this.

Who's surprised that fuzzy's mates don't tend to exhibit signs of personal growth?

fuzzyroes 07-19-2018 12:24 AM

oh shit, ram did a ninja edit on me.

fuzzyroes 07-19-2018 12:31 AM

I also wanna state the obvious that a healthy diet and regular exercise has a much more profound effect on the mind than these drugs that make you artificially happy.

fuzzyroes 07-19-2018 12:34 AM

I know everyone is gonna crucify me for this stance, but before you do, please watch this 10 minute lecture from Doctor Peter Breggin about the risks and dangers of psychotropic drugs.

screw you.

Shallowed 07-19-2018 12:37 AM

Do you have to relentlessly pitch your two cents on every single thing that you know nothing about you dumb motherfucker

fuzzyroes 07-19-2018 12:47 AM

Watch the video. What don't you agree about?

I said, if you're so mentally ill that you have no other choice, psychotropic drugs are fine... But if you take these things for life, they can shorten a lifespan by as much as 20 years... Pretty terrifying.

fuzzyroes 07-19-2018 12:51 AM

screw you.

FoolofaTook 07-19-2018 01:20 AM

how's your liver doing?

no one is asking for your permission or opinion here, nor is it valued or championed by the sane or insane. I hope you die before you reproduce.

It essentially just does numb all of the emotions. One good friend actually has big issues with erectile dysfunction on his meds.

So like Buzz was getting at, I don't know if there's a lot of difference when it comes to numbing yourself with doctor prescribed hard meds and alcohol. I'd never argue that alcohol is less harmful of a solution, but they're certainly both crutches.

Alcohol is actually a depressant so I wouldn't call it a crutch.

fuzzy you are such a dumb fucking piece of shit just shut your god damn mouth. shut. up.

Yeah, but it's a substance used to mask your authentic emotions, sorta acts as a crutch in that way.

Just because you can't function without medicating yourself with drugs, doesn't mean others should be encouraged to do the same.

Had a 6 pack in the blistering heat earlier. More recently I was spending hours digging through a ton of music I've downloaded over the past few months... Just looking for more good stuff to upload to my mobile device to listen to when I go on runs or hikes.

Now I'm watching interesting conversations and lectures on Youtube.

Whater you doing up so late brohyme?

actually you should, because if someone manages to squeeze a post in before you hit reply, you then have to edit and explain yourself

redbreegull 07-19-2018 03:43 AM

fuzzy it is almost noon here in israel

breeg what alcest album are you listening to?

fuzzyroes 07-19-2018 03:47 AM

Fair enough!

Sorry if I was insensitive about the psychotropic drugs thing. I just passionately believe they should be used as a last resort, but everyone is free to do as they wish. I just make sure to speak up when I see people on the fence about starting them.

reprise85 07-19-2018 11:48 AM

Really what is offensive about what you're saying is you assume you know how other people feel based on how you feel and nothing else. I am glad for you that you've never been so desperate that you had to take medication. But to presume you know how terrible one can feel for no real reason and that it can't be bad enough to warrant medication unless you are a danger to society is naive.

Also how humans live has change drastically in the past 5-10k years and especially in the past 500 years. You have no idea how people dealt with mental illness in the past - probably a lot more people killed themselves from it or died earlier because they couldn't keep up with their tribe or whatever. But no one knows, so stop pretending it's a good argument

redbreegull 07-19-2018 02:12 PM

90% of the offensive things he says are based in him assuming his extremely limited experiences can be applied uniformly to all humans

it seems like it would be incredibly simple to just stop assuming people are like you or should be like you when everyone is constantly telling you that this is a really bad, negative, harmful pattern of thought which makes you seem stupid, ignorant, and often even hateful, but....

it's just a depressant in that it slows your internal systems down. it's not necessarily a depressant, mood wise (hangovers, etc possibly)

It's always uplifted my mood

redbreegull 07-19-2018 02:14 PM

fuzzy really is the human embodiment of Dunning Kruger

alcohol makes me feel better at the time and worse later. I usually feel a positive, uplifting endorphin rush while drinking, but the next day after a lot of drinking I will feel kind of down, regardless of hangover

Ram27 07-19-2018 02:29 PM

For a while for me it was just complete positivity, and no hangovers/mood changes after. Now I feel down after even one drink

pretty lame. is this the getting older thing? lame
