Hasn't this board been done for years now?

it's been having dead spats like this for several years at least. it will come back, then it will die down again and everyone will say it's done, then it will come back

The forum is treated like the geriatric relative whose nursing home is a half-hour drive.

everybody keeps making excuses for it but tbqh i don't think the board's ever been this bad, not in the last 4-5 years at least

I don't think that's true at all. Every few months we go through a period where there aren't new threads/posts for days or whatever. We still have probably over 2 dozen people who post in gen chat weekly

One issue is there aren't enough good threads being created. For example the cursed images thread got a fairly strong turnout immediately.

I know no one wants to hear it, and I realize there were solid reasons, but I think the moderation has run a little wild and too many crucial contributors have been ousted.

Anything posted that is conservative leaning is promptly deleted. Heck, that MarquisInSpades kid seemed like a good dude but he was ousted for some reason. And I realize TOC crossed a line that has been set here, but I think a permanent ban might have been a little extreme for someone who was such a pioneer and a legend here.

I'd say that sometimes it takes different opinions to get a conversation rolling. But if only opinions of one kind are allowed, then it doesn't really leave an opportunity for much to be said.

I'm not trying to upset the mods, or get in a confrontation with them as I understand their reasoning, but I sincerely believe it's been a reason for the regression of the board.
