Breakfast

What's your ideal breakfast?

What's your usual breakfast?

ohnoitsbonnie 02-09-2017 06:59 PM

Yogurt and yogurt (but not greek). Also black coffee. This is what I had today and most days.

redbreegull 02-09-2017 07:04 PM

I don't usually eat breakfast, but when I do it's a piece of fruit or some sort of cereal bar. always drink a cup of coffee though

Disco King 02-09-2017 07:19 PM

I cannot imagine living the sort of life where I actually have time to make myself an enjoyable meal between getting up/getting ready and running out the door. I think it would require the fall of capitalism to allow that to happen.

Breakfast Comrades of the world unite.

buzzard 02-09-2017 07:20 PM

There's always going to bed earlier and waking up in time for it, but fuck that noise.

I'll dream of breakfast if I have to.

yo soy el mejor 02-09-2017 07:23 PM

ideal is anything mexican... papas fritas, eggs, black beans and corn tortillas, chilaquiles, menudo, migas, etc. weekdays i just boil eggs if i eat anything at all.

thankfully tim is a breakfast freak (we both wake up early) and on the weekends we go all out. last saturday i made french toast (using texas toast, ofc) and he made the coffee, bacon, and we both tended to the papas fritas.

ohnoitsbonnie 02-09-2017 07:23 PM

You should try pho for breakfast. The way it's meant to be eaten

MyOneAndOnly 02-09-2017 07:26 PM

best breakfast is black coffee

yo soy el mejor 02-09-2017 07:27 PM

tim has even taken the time to use a corn mill grinder to make panamanian tortillas, which are much thicker than what i know.

they are best with queso fresco

ohnoitsbonnie 02-09-2017 07:28 PM

Yeah that too. I sometimes get coffee with my pho

MyOneAndOnly 02-09-2017 07:31 PM

i had coffee at Cafe Du Monde in the French Quarter yesterday. it was over priced and the place was filthy from the pigeons and tourists.

Sounds right

buzzard 02-09-2017 07:42 PM

I've already bought up on all the ingredients necessary to make two massive loaves of challah over the weekend, the vast majority of which will be allowed to go stale and find itself converted to French toast.

You know what they say about what is lost.

qwerty sp 02-09-2017 07:44 PM

Gosh you guys really avoid morning calories

Ideal: bacon and eggs (mushrooms, tomato ect) /pancakes w real maple syrup/ waffles w same, & coffee

Usual: cereal/banana & coffee

ohnoitsbonnie 02-09-2017 07:49 PM

The italians eat small breakfasts but as a kid I was encouraged to eat large ones. The japanese tend to eat fairly large breakfasts. I don't know which is the way to go to be healthy

ohnoitsbonnie 02-09-2017 07:51 PM

REAL MAPLE SYRUP hahaha that's an import product. Even those European and Asian maples don't have good sap (although I know of a person that taps norway maples in the attempt to kill them and also for syrup). Their sap isn't that great compared to rock and red maples though

ohnoitsbonnie 02-09-2017 07:51 PM

USA MAPLES #1

qwerty sp 02-09-2017 07:54 PM

Well I think the good folks of Canada would dispute that

myosis 02-09-2017 07:56 PM

it varies day to day
-some granola cereal that usually has chocolate or nuts in it, mixed with full-fat yogurt
-or butter croissant with jam
-or toasted french bread with peanut butter, jam and/or nutella (not mixed together)

always accompanied by a banana (between 4 and 7 ripeness) and coffee (or chicoree if my male organ is inflamed). very small glass of juice too (orange or grape)

myosis 02-09-2017 07:57 PM

real maple syrup is a local product around here

myosis 02-09-2017 07:57 PM

6 bucks a can

calories kill people

buzzard 02-09-2017 08:06 PM

Exercise machines with a "calories burned" feature really do make food look bad.

qwerty sp 02-09-2017 08:11 PM

This is correct

LaBelle 02-09-2017 08:17 PM

I rarely have breakfast.
I'm partial to milk and non-sugary cereal.

How big is this can?

MyOneAndOnly 02-09-2017 08:25 PM

some of the latest studies on metabolism show that people who live active lives burn the same number of calories per day as people who are sedentary. While it's healthy to be active, it's not activity in the long term that causes weight loss. People who lead active lives, like hunter gatherers, burn the same number of calories every day as someone sitting in an office chair.

What that means is that weight loss is almost all based on controlling calorie intake.
