heat death just kind of feels right to me.

I consider heat one of the worst most uncomfortable feelings, burning to death is probably awful.

Whereas freezing to death, at some point numbness would take over and I would accept the ice in my heart.

you'll like the heat death of the universe then. it's the idea that eventually all matter will be too far away from all other matter for anything to happen and the universe will go cold and dead.
