Anyone feel like times moving faster?

When I was a kid and in my early 20's it seemed like I had all these memories and that time was moving so slow but the years are now just melding together in a blur. It's kinda freaking me out.

reprise85 01-15-2017 11:33 PM

yeah it happens to everyone

best theory i've heard is that when you've lived longer you've more to compare it to so it feels like and is comparatively a less amount of time. when you're 10 a year is 1/10th of your entire life now it's just 1/30th

fuzzyroes 01-15-2017 11:38 PM

Does it happen to everyone?

Cause in a lot of ways I've just done less cool stuff over the years and kind of sunk into the monotony of life. The thought that times just passing me by is kinda worrisome.

Like when I was 20 playing shows and going to partys and doing all this fun stuff it just felt so memorable and fun but now it's all just lame and unnoteworthy.

It's a byproduct of getting older. Just go with it.

Elphenor 01-15-2017 11:48 PM

still not rethinking that not finishing high school life path fuzz

And how's your life working out for you?

FlamingGlobes 01-15-2017 11:53 PM

Those who live in dad's houses shouldn't throw stones.

crabshack 01-15-2017 11:53 PM

wouldn't 1/10th of time move faster than 1/30th of time?

No worries, I got some irons in the fire. If anything time flying by is acting as a motivator.

what's faster, 1/10th of a minute or 1/30th? 6 seconds or 2 seconds?

that is really confusing though sorry i cant think of a better way to put it

fuzzyroes 01-16-2017 12:11 AM

@ GLOBES: brings me back to splitting a 6 pack and cranking that shit up half my life ago.

i get it. in your previous post you were talking about years. i was thinking 1/10th of a year moves slower than 1/30th of a year.

reprise85 01-16-2017 12:23 AM

gotcha. i mean that might not even be why it feels like that, time is absolute (i guess) but also think of it like when you first get a job everything is confusing and awkward and you are painfully aware of every awkward moment but then 10 years later it's like yolo shit happens and nothing is as magnified as that first time you pissed someone off?

redbreegull 01-16-2017 12:29 AM

I think this does indeed happen to everyone. I've always assumed it was just because arbitrary, small unites of time are proportionally smaller and smaller to your whole life experience as you get older.

toase 01-16-2017 12:52 AM

What is time?

fuzzyroes 01-16-2017 12:53 AM

you can never leave without leaving a piece of youth

Cool As Ice Cream 01-16-2017 03:52 AM

fuck you fuzzy you fucken retard you fucken worthless piece of shiiit

Shallowed 01-16-2017 05:28 AM

It can't move fast enough

Cool As Ice Cream 01-16-2017 05:36 AM

i don't give a shiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiit

FoolofaTook 01-16-2017 06:18 AM

When I have weed it moves slow.

When I don't have weed time doesn't matter, like everything else.

LaBelle 01-16-2017 07:17 AM

If time flies when you're having fun, and it seems to go by faster as we get older.
Does this mean we have more fun the older we get?

killtrocity 01-16-2017 11:14 AM

It's a matter of dynamism versus stagnation. Patterns are self-sustaining. Inertia. Static.

Do things you've never done before.

FlamingGlobes 01-16-2017 11:29 AM

Like butt stuff

myosis 01-16-2017 02:01 PM

is time really absolute? what if, at a cellular level, you experience time faster as your body gets older and senescent?

ohnoitsbonnie 01-16-2017 03:52 PM

Hey fuzzy: e = mc^2

ohnoitsbonnie 01-16-2017 03:55 PM

Time can only go by as relative to how fast you're going so because everyone around you is whizzing by so fast (but normal to us) I guess that explains why you can't keep up. Hope that helps. Have a good one

Elphenor 01-16-2017 05:52 PM

I don't understand relativity

killtrocity 01-16-2017 06:13 PM

1. if u r goin fast then tiem is slower for u than every 1 else who is goin slow

b. if u r feelin strong gravitys then time is slower for u than every 1 else

killtrocity 01-16-2017 06:15 PM

for real tho this is cool as fuk especially # 2

FoolofaTook 01-16-2017 06:17 PM

Did you guys happen to note the post up above in which the poster so cleverly, so aptly, and, as a tribute to me, so majestically used the word senescent?

I am an institution.

ohnoitsbonnie 01-16-2017 06:25 PM

You did not invent senescence!

Strong gravity, like entering (I guess) a black hole, which is just a lot of mass whose gravitational pull will not let light escape. The larger the amount of mass the more comfortable the black hole to live in. You could live out your life in one but you wouldn't have comtact with the other side beyond the event horizon
