I once wrote a corruscating jewel of a poem and submitted it to a webzine called aphelion.

Maybe it's the perpetually depressed teenager still rotting away inside of me, but I prefer when it gets dark around 5:00 during the winter. It absolutely annoys me when we're balls deep in summer and it's 8:45 and still light out.

Leaving work when it's dark makes me think there's nothing left of life but to go to bed

By about Feb's end I start to believe life will always feel this way

When springs first blush hits me, when the sun becomes an actual source of warmth rather than a cruel spotlight for my shivering, only then do I believe again in the promise of our days

I thought it was universally agreed on that it fucking sucks and is depressing as shit when you wake up and it's dark and when you leave work it's dark

I mean FUCK that what kind of twisted person wants it to be dark all the time

when I come home I turn on all the lights in the living room (I know bad habit) because I just hate the oppressive dark slithering into every corner

Fuck no. the darker the better.

I'm only happy when it rains.

A little bit goes a long way. The sun is kind of like a family member to me. It's nice to see it, but not necessarily to see it all the time.

This isn't really a depression thing. I feel more motivated and more focused in the dark, winter months. I do better writing, I get more creative, more motivated, my moods feel more balanced and I just generally feel better about life.

there's an old irish or scottish saying (can't remember because i'm dumb) but they take coffee "as black as the devil and as sweet as a stolen kiss"

I wish I took coffee with sugar so I could say that. Just Satan for me, thanks.

It kind of goes hand in hand with my feelings about summer and warm weather. I'd rather bundle up and brave the cold than walk around suffering in a T-shirt and shorts in the warmth.
