The star, who launched his career with Wham! in the 1980s and later continued his success as a solo performer, is said to have "passed away peacefully at home".
Thames Valley Police said South Central Ambulance Service attended a property in Goring in Oxfordshire at 13:42 GMT.
Police say there were no suspicious circumstances.
Michael, who was born Georgios Kyriacos Panayiotou in north London, sold more than 100m albums throughout a career spanning almost four decades.
He first found fame with his schoolfriend Andrew Ridgeley in duo Wham! before going on to release solo albums, including the multi-million selling Faith and Listen Without Prejudice Vol. 1.
Earlier this month it was announced that producer and songwriter Naughty Boy was working with Michael on a new album.
In a statement, the star's publicist said: "It is with great sadness that we can confirm our beloved son, brother and friend George passed away peacefully at home over the Christmas period.

So jealous of those "good" timeliners enjoying a Clinton-elect and a living George Michael.

I've been thinking more about alternate timelines and points of divergence over the last few years. At this point I am fairly certain we are living in a dark mirror universe like the one where Spock has a goatee. I don't believe I am a dark version of myself, which leads me to the natural conclusion that we have all traded places with our dark selves.

I wonder if his demise relates in any way to those brushes with pneumonia you wouldn't expect a wealthy person in a developed country to suffer.

That's too bad to hear. I loved his Sports Machine.

We need to do the 5 movements and make the universes have more paths

not sure if you're taking the piss here a little bit, but this occupies me a lot more than i care to admit. it's one of my most severe recurring negative thought patterns, probably.

watching a basketball game can drive you crazy thinking about that, because it represents so vividly how every single little thing is a divergence point, splitting another yet universe into two. the sheer unfathomable infinity of alternate universes or paths of existence gives me mental blackouts. in a parallel universe out there somewhere far, far away, perhaps somebody loves me

I was making fun of myself but yeah I have thoughts like that all the freakin time. I think it is linked to feelings of dissociation I began having around the time of my breakup. Everything just feels too weird to be real sometimes. It occupies my mind so much I wrote a song about it. That's interesting that you experience a similar thing, I wonder if it is a common thought pattern for anxious and depressed people?

reprise85 12-26-2016 01:51 AM

derealization is my life 24/7. not kidding

redbreegull 12-26-2016 01:54 AM

I have also read a lot about theories of parallel universes and shit over the last few years. Shit like our universe is actually 2 dimensional and is stacked a fraction of a millimeter away from infinite layers of other universes. shit is cray

also the world is going insane and it does feel like we are suddenly living in an alternate history. donald trump is going to be president how is it that possible? that shit cannot be real
