I've worked/volunteered with a refugee resettlement group for 18 months trying to help bring people in so they don't have to keep living in refugee camps. I've been suspect of the Wharton college story, the secret club, but him winning puts it beyond plausible and into likely. No man is an island, he had to have A LOT of help to get him in and he most certainly did.

Trump vowed to lessen US ties to the UN so hopefully we can just close our ears to the complaints entirely.

I guess you could approach the process of democracy with a complete refusal to compromise and see how that turns out. Probably works as well as refusing to compromise works anywhere in life, I imagine.

Is anyone really suprised that all the states that recieve the most federal aid (something decidely not red) vote red? Although most of it goes to Medicaid and other essential and productive programs, so I'd never advocate taking it away from them. This is probably because the climate of the state is so poor, as well as the opportunities available to people. But it would be nice if these states put their money where their mouth/voting power lied.

You could probably find some evidence that red voters are not generally as educated, but this isn't an always the individual/group's fault, unless it is willful ignorance. Many, many wealthy and generally educated and priveleged people are (fiscal) conservatives yet vote republican because they're greedy.

I don't want to make "democrat" one of my adjectives, because I don't fully identify with that party- but I identify more so with it than the other one.
