surely there is a cutting psychological observation to be made about this. forever endless open tabs until there comes an inevitable crash that resets it all back to nothing. repeat ad nauseam.

inability to let go?
illusion of control?
clenching the past, instead of embracing the future?
electra complex?

Worst part is trying to figure out which tab is the ad coming from?

I have over 100 tabs open right now. They aren't all loaded up because this causes firefox to crash intermittently. I always just click restore previous session so I can keep the tabs like bookmarks until I eventually look at them, which is never going to happen. It's almost all news articles and shit about science.

I developed this problem in 2013 and it has just gotten worse since then. Sometime in the last year firefox crashed for cereal and I was unable to recover my old tabs... but the oldest one I had open, I wanted to read it so bad, I looked it up and now it is once again the first out of 100+ tabs. It's from September '13.

it's an article about camgirls if you wanted to know

Why is it when I wake up I feel overwhelmed by tasks and accomplishments I must do and make and I can't bring myself to start and end up doing nothing

i do the same thing but it's gotten a bit better recently. i dont have enough time to go down wikipedia or tvtropes rabbit holes so i generally don't get started. but yeah, like you and unlike redbreegul, when they are gone after a crash i usually don't try to re-open them

i have 21 tabs open right now but half of them are netphoria and gmail. the others are a wikipedia page on a shark tank thing i watched last night, the AAA website, a couple of misc google searches, some election articles and this reddit thread https://www.reddit.com/r/WTF/comment...ound_with_131/

what browser are you using?

i know that with (at least, my version of) chrome, there is a small black speaker symbol next to tab names that are playing sound.

Chrome. it does show. But I get so annoyed about the thing yelling at me that I just go furiously closing tab after tab. It's a dumb reaction, I know.

myosis 11-01-2016 11:42 AM

that's reason enough to stop piling on tabs

Elphenor 11-01-2016 06:52 PM

Having more than 3 tabs open is too much

The internet is becoming like TV there's never anything good on I'm just flipping through the channels

I don't have the open tab problem, but I do tend to collect a lot of bullshit on my Desktop. Every few months I might go and delete a bunch of things, but I feel very reluctant doing so.
