maybe it's country music fans. cause they still buy CDs

I do? Not much of an Alan Jackson guy, though. I mean, pay $5 through Playstation store or $1 through Redbox when I'm already at the grocery store buying bananas? Why not?

I don't use torrents. Never downloaded a movie in my life. I hate watching stuff on my laptop. I'm a dinosaur.

I also still buy CDs. Wanna fight?

Netflix is terrible for movies. Unless you plan on watching a lot of Netflix originals + Scrubs, X-Files and Trailer Park Boys, don't bother.

Redbox to me is perfect for when you wanna see something like Batman v. Superman or the new Ghostbusters, but you know it'll suck, but you just have to see it just so you can tell everyone it sucks. I mean, it's $1.50. Minimal investment.

Surely you're aware that torrenting media does not require that you consume it via laptop.

I used to have a PC permanently connected to my television, but recently bought a new one that takes an external hard drive directly. Strangely enough, it can even handle the HEVC codec that no computer in the household runs smoothly.

FlamingGlobes 10-31-2016 09:07 PM

I don't know man, that just sounds like an awful lot of work. I mean, it probably isn't. But I just can't be fucked. I have so many DVDs n shit and so many forms of entertainment already. I just can't.

FlamingGlobes 10-31-2016 09:08 PM

Plus I was told that pirating is not a victimless crime.

reprise85 10-31-2016 09:10 PM

you wouldn't steal a CAR

buzzard 10-31-2016 09:18 PM

I have several boxes filled with DVDs in a cupboard and usually download things I know are in there because it's less of an effort.

Take that to mean what you want.

redbreegull 10-31-2016 09:37 PM

FlamingGlobes would probably have to rent redbox movies two dozen times before it exceeds the cost of the cord to hook his computer up to his television

buzzard 10-31-2016 09:48 PM

Spending any more than $6USD on the requisite cable would be a far greater crime than the eternal piracy it was purchased for.

redbreegull 10-31-2016 10:07 PM

I thought they would be cheap too but I actually went looking for an hdmi cord recently at microcenter and they were like $30. I don't remember exactly, but they weren't much less than that

buzzard 10-31-2016 10:10 PM

The cheapest option on the first page of Amazon search results was $2.30USD with free shipping.

vixnix 10-31-2016 10:20 PM

Man I watched the most boring thing on Netflix the other night. I fell asleep. "I am the Pretty Girl who Lives in the House" or something.

Best long form entertainment is being created by Netflix though.

Couldn't get into the second season of Fargo, though. But the first season was fucken tops.

vixnix 10-31-2016 10:21 PM

Just wanted to try out "fucken tops". I don't think I'll keep it.

buzzard 10-31-2016 10:22 PM

I preferred the second, personally.

Different strokes for different cunts, mate.

crabshack 10-31-2016 10:33 PM

Netflix has a lot of hidden gems. I don't think this is available anymore for streaming but it was one of my favorite films I've seen in the past few years.

i still buy CDs and rent DVDs.

there's a lot of shit you don't understand even though you think you have the world figured out.

toase 10-31-2016 11:16 PM

Theres still one DVD rental store in my city, an odd looking, always empty store, at first I thought it was a money laudering scheme, but one day, as I was passing by, I noticed some people were inside, and when I peaked I saw them performing some ritual, they were sitting in circles, there was some candles too, I'm still scared

redbreegull 10-31-2016 11:35 PM

I bought cds regularly up until 2009 when I got a macbook and started using itunes finally. I ripped 28if's entire library onto mine, he showed me how to use piratebay, and my world was changed. before that I was all it's bad to steal music. Then it became super convenient for me to do so and I got into a lot of new bands at a much faster rate which was cool for me so now im like piracy only hurts lars ulrich and corporate labels. funny how that works

myosis 11-01-2016 11:38 AM
