makes me want to vomit. disney is pretty awful. before star wars, pixar was the only reason I watched any new disney movies in the last decade.

that just sounds like the internet, but there are probably about 20 topics we discuss over and over and over. T Swiz and Star Wars are pretty common ones here. I wish I could take credit for constantly bringing up Taylor, but honestly it's only me half the time.

it's one of the greatest platformers of all time and was met with rave critical reviews and was wildly popular... Rareware in the 90s was one of the best game developers ever.

and yes, it's true. Me and two other guys had the third most trafficked BK fan site on the web, and the 2nd most active message board which I ran as a tyrant 12-year-old. After excitement about the sequel died down, YBK shut down eventually and our forum became the most popular, but at that point it was like 2002 and everyone was done with platform games.

redbreegull 10-06-2016 11:34 PM

Shit started to decay and the more wtf aspects of the internet started to become more mainstream and seeped into our picturesque little community. We got trolls who would post porn and that was like WOAH WTF WHERE DO THESE GUYS THINK THEY ARE? We would ban the same people over and over and they would just keep setting up proxies on their browsers and coming back

eventually it all just went to shit and I abandoned ship, but I lasted a lot longer than the other guys who were a bit older and probably discovered music and girls. I couldn't understand at the time how they could be moving on from Banjo-Kazooie

ilikeplanets 10-06-2016 11:36 PM

I sucked at that game

ilikeplanets 10-06-2016 11:36 PM

There was never clear instructions or paths. I hate games that make me wander around aimlessly. Like Zelda.

I'm the opposite. I like open world games and linear ones bore me quickly. and at the time I had never played a game with such an awesome explorable environment. I recently downloaded the Xbox360 remaster and finished the game in 3.5 hours. And the development team consisted of 15 people including the artists and the composer. It seems so quaint.

redbreegull 10-06-2016 11:46 PM

It's a fuckin shame what Microsoft did to Rare. Essentially ruined one of the greatest game studios of all time and tarnished the Banjo and Perfect Dark franchises with extremely shitty, nearly unplayable sequels for the 360. I read recently that a group of former employees including one of the main developers and the composer started their own studio and are crowd-funding a "spiritual successor" called Yuka-Laylee

Fucking despised Donkey Kong Country.

An entire year of birthday parties and sleepovers eaten up by that shit.

Elphenor 10-07-2016 05:52 AM

Kong country is king though

Best platformer of all time is the original Rayman

I also not enjoy games that don't give you clear directions.
Except, I love Zelda, they do give you directions tho (the first 2 games don't and they are my least favorites)

Eek, this reminds me I never went back to finish Twilight Princess or Majora's Mask :(

lots of memories of being 13 in the summer and playing donkey kong country in the morning with a bunch of guys and girls and all the conspiring about who liked whom and will you go out with her, and whose turn is it.

ilikeplanets 10-07-2016 01:01 PM

I love Donkey Kong country!! And almost any DK game. Not the shit with the bongos, obviously

Elphenor 10-07-2016 01:10 PM

The first bongos Dk game was fun

redbreegull 10-07-2016 03:50 PM

DK64 was like a subpar Banjo-Kazooie

Elphenor 10-07-2016 03:57 PM

I remember not being able to figure out where to go in DK 64

redbreegull 10-07-2016 04:04 PM

I played DK64 with the official guide. There's like a secret ending if you play to 100% completion, and I collected everything, and somehow it didn't unlock the secret ending. I went back and checked every fuckin thing in case the problem was just that "stats" page thing on the menu, but it still didn't work. Super disappointing

FoolofaTook 10-07-2016 05:54 PM

If there was a boris messageboard I would have left AGES, EPOCHS, AEONS ago.

fuzzyroes 10-07-2016 05:58 PM

Nintendo 64 kinda sucked. It's when videogames lost me. I did have a playstation though but pretty much only played Crash Bandicoot and some baseball and hockey ones.

Elphenor 10-07-2016 06:03 PM

No it didn't

Mario 64 for daayyysss

fuzzyroes 10-07-2016 06:17 PM

I just found the graphics a little unpleasing and blocky. I was also more of a fan of the side-scroller games.

Mario-Kart 64 was some good shit though

fuzzyroes 10-07-2016 06:19 PM

What was actually dope and criminally underrated though was GameCube.

About 6 or 7 years ago EB games had em used for 25 bucks, so I bought one and got a bunch of games for cheap and it's a real fun system. A few years back in a drunken stupor I accidentally pissed on it in the middle of the night and broke it though.

fuzzyroes 10-07-2016 06:20 PM

my only video game pleasure now is my trusty Sega Genesis hand-held

Elphenor 10-07-2016 06:28 PM

How do you accidentally piss on your GameCube

And did you just assume it was broken

Elphenor 10-07-2016 06:30 PM

GameCube had a really nice controller just not a lot of great games

Metroid Prime was pretty awesome

haven't you ever just pissed in random weird places when you're pass out drunk?

One funny time was when my buddy saw me passed out and sleep walking as I then stopped and pissed in the dogs-dish. I guess I thought it was a toilet or something

And yeah man, I tried it and cleaned it and it was fucked.

reprise85 10-07-2016 06:46 PM

wtf fuzzy
