Yeah, at this point, I think my standards for 'rock' type music are way too high after listening to the Pumpkins or My Vitriol or whatever. Everything else just sounds weak and shitty.

Like I can't get into Slowdive, but I love love love Mojave 3, because they're not trying to be rock, so I don't have any preconceived notions of what sounds good in their genre. I can just listen. And it's really nice.

You are literally the only person on the planet with this opinion.

I was never really into industrial. But HTDA has more of a mellow downtempo vibe to it than Nine inch nails ever did. HTDA is noisy at times but overall it's a lot more mellow and beat driven than NIN ever were.

I actually also like some of his recent soundtrack work with Atticus Ross because it's also mellow.
