2016 Presidential Primary

We should have a thread dedicated to this, so we can all listen to each others' stupid opinions and keep them neatly organized. It's going to be a long long shit show.

Thread rules:

1) Don't respond to Omega Concern

Trotskilicious 05-22-2015 04:35 PM

A year ago I made a minimally educated guess that it would be Walker. I dunno if I want to stick with that or not. What a nightmare.

Hillary has tracked left so far which is good to see. Glad Bernie is running.

The first republican debate is limited to ten participants and I think it will be great fun to see who gets left out.

Bread Regal 05-22-2015 06:24 PM

Walker thinks that union busting "sends a message" to ISIS.

I can't recall anything of substance from Hillary since she started running. She needs to go away and just work on The Clinton Foundation from now on. The Clintons creep me out. They're lightning rods for controversy, legitimately or not.

Eulogy 05-22-2015 06:28 PM

Oh walker is awful. Obviously.

If not Hillary then who? O'Malley?

I'm sure we'd all love Bernie but it's important to be realistic since rbg and Scalia will likely die during the next administration.

Eulogy 05-22-2015 06:28 PM

Scalia is maybe more of a hope for me.

i think they left out Santorum

MyOneAndOnly 05-22-2015 06:52 PM

the entire primary season is going to be these douchebags arguing about who hates Obama, Hillary, gays, Latinos and African Americans more.

Eulogy 05-22-2015 06:56 PM

Which is funny because two of them are Latinos.

I really wish there was a one shot only national primary

Why does fucking Iowa matter ugh. Not that it seems like it will make a difference for democrats this time around but ugh

Eulogy 05-22-2015 06:57 PM

I am totally looking forward to it for the entertainment value though. The debates are going to be so amazing.

I think it's realistic to think that Bernie would make mincemeat out of any of the GOP contenders in a debate. He has at least as much name recognition as everyone in the republican field except Bush.

ted cruz is white as far as i'm concerned

Trotskilicious 05-22-2015 09:56 PM

Cruz's father was born in 1939 in Matanzas, Cuba, and as a teenager, he joined Fidel Castro's guerrilla groups to fight against the regime of Fulgencio Batista.

lolwut

Trotskilicious 05-22-2015 09:57 PM

Cruz has said, "I'm Cuban, Irish, and Italian, and yet somehow I ended up Southern Baptist."

translation: "I'm super white, y'all."

"and the pope is the antichrist"

Tchocky 05-23-2015 01:09 AM

Hillary versus Jeb. Etch it in stone. Another Clinton v Bush election.

God, American democracy is such a joke these days.

#plutocracy

Trotskilicious 05-23-2015 01:11 AM

stop doing hashtags on netphoria

Tchocky 05-23-2015 01:14 AM

Jeb has executive experience and ties to a critical swing state. Everyone else is either a total clown show (Cruz, Huckabee, Christie, Ayn Rand Paul, et al) or lacks experience (Fiorina, Rubio, etc) or isn't running (the only potential Republican Presidential candidate who has an iota of sanity is John Huntsman, and he's apparently not running).

The Democratic nomination is Hillary's to lose. Granted, for awhile that seemed to be true during the early going of the 2008 election, but this time it seems like far more of a sure thing. I don't see an Obama-esque darkhorse coming out of nowhere to steal the nom from her this time around.

Trotskilicious 05-23-2015 01:36 AM

Dick Butt is my man.

Trotskilicious 05-23-2015 01:36 AM

hey remember when blue star would start one of these threads three years before the election

I'm sorry but if you think an admitted socialist has a shot you are very wrong. I wish that wasn't the case. But it is.

I am a socialist. Before anyone jumps on me

Trotskilicious 05-23-2015 03:07 AM

If you say so.

Believe me I wish I was alone here. I really do.
