Who's your favorite King of the Hill character?
 

The show had so many excellent smaller recurring characters. I watched this show religiously for years but it only airs at like 2:30 in the morning now, kind of a bummer. I really gotta pick it up on DVD.

Anyways heres my vote:



Still think my favorite episode of the series is when Bobby becomes Bucks caddy. Fuck that was funny:rofl:

So many Bill episodes are great too. Like when Peggy sets him up with her librarian and he shows up at the dinner with his lizard on his shoulder

B's uncle sounds almost exactly like Boomhauer. I just smile and nod when he speaks to me.

LOL. This is my fav animated show, fa shure.

Hank is the star, of course, and I love John Redcorn, but Bobby steals the show for me. That one episode in which he falls in love with a manikin head, or the one in which he joins a Christian rap/rock band ("green pastures ya'll!") are priceless.

And there is a very short scene in which Bobby sniffs the trash can and says something like "is it just me or does the garbage smell like yesterday's?" For some reason (thc probs) I laughed until my sides ached and my eyes flowed like irrigation canals hard by the Nile.

i like bill a lot too. no one likes bill though.

i do. he is such a total mess. :) Did you know that Bill comes from a really wealthy old southern family? I think his last name is French.

Boomhauer is great too, but that has already been mentioned.

heh. i just recalled when bill gets into deep frying shit. They start frying entire turkeys and beer cans and and shit.

Besides Hank? Probably Minh. I like most all the characters though.

I used to hate Bobby because he felt like Ralph Wiggum, but he turned into a pretty cool character. Still, I'd say my favorite is either Hank or Dale. Dale's just one endless punchline.

Kinda hard to choose still, its not like simpsons where some characters seems to bring the funny more consistently. It feels more spread out on KOTH. For one it's always much subtler. I like boomhauer too and Hank's dad, Cotton. And Luanne. And Dale. Bill just tends to make me kinda sad and annoyed. Like the episode where he ends up pretending to be Lenore...

oh god that was hard to watch. the whole redcorn-dale thing is kinda depressing too

that's part of what i'm talking about. why would they make her so unlikable? her psychology is insane, like how she often feels threatened and gets pettily competitive with bobby over hank's random affections or anything really. and why does she lie all the time?

there's so much more unrevealed backstory to her character i feel like, because of course she was the most unpopular character (her best funniest moments aren't really punchline jokes) they didn't focus on her character as much as they could have. i wish they would have. she's a fucking basket case.

so because of all that she's my favorite character as of late. i'm just really intrigued by her motives and i think about her a lot. i've watched the entire run 4 times now not counting random syndication episodes.

my easy answer would have been bill he's so sad.

if this show were played by real actors (and it could have - nothing cartoony happens) it would be compared to northern exposure with a twin peaks undertone. there's a menacing dark underbelly to the show even as a cartoon.

I really never had a problem with Peggy.
