Better Call Saul

First episode was alright. Solid B. This could be good or terrible, I can't tell yet.

dreams of glass 02-10-2015 01:44 AM

yeh it was alright

hnibos 02-10-2015 01:57 AM

Bsg is better and you haven't watched it

ilikeplanets 02-10-2015 03:00 AM

ooh i wanna see this

teh b0lly!!1 02-10-2015 03:21 AM

Gilligan is still writing this right?

i think i'm gonna wait until there's a bunch of episodes to binge on

Order 66 02-10-2015 03:26 AM

honestly i was pretty blown away... didn't expect this to be near as good as it was (well, if the pilot is anything to go by. still too early). ever since they announced a spinoff i had a bad feeling about it, especially when i found out it'd take a more serious tone than originally conceived. but they pulled it off

dat vince gilligan magick

The exploding boy 02-10-2015 03:30 AM

I just realised this is a breaking bad spinoff.

I wondered why they seemed to want to advertise it so much (i never watched BB..and at this point don't care to since i've been spoilt everything)

reprise85 02-10-2015 07:53 AM

the second episode was great. i bet bob odinkirk never thought he'd have lead role in something like this

reprise85 02-10-2015 07:55 AM

i hadn't read much about it but for some reason i expect some stupid like case of the week hijinks. like his actual trials would be the focus of the show or something. this is much better.

Order 66 02-10-2015 07:56 AM

he was pretty good in Nebraska too. small role but good movie.. up on netflix

Eulogy 02-10-2015 07:58 AM

Seen Ep 1 but not 2

A littttttle disappointed it ended with a BB tie in so quickly, but I trust Gilligan. Watching the second one tonight.

thats what they were going to do at first.. like one week tina fey goes to saul and wants her husband murded.. stuff like that

and i thought that's probably what they should do since saul was so goofy he almost didn't even belong on bb.. but seems like they found the right balance.

freshfacedyouth 02-10-2015 04:17 PM

it's pretty much met my expectations. more saul isn't a bad thing, since odinkirk never fails to entertain. and i'm happy to be back in albuquerque. i missed seeing it ever since BB ended

LaBelle 02-11-2015 09:56 AM

Second episode I thought was a blast.
It's no Breaking Bad, but this series seem to be on track to deliver some good fun.

bignothing 02-15-2015 11:26 AM

Unimpressed by the first episode, but the second one was good. Promising but not great yet. Specially when you consider Breaking Bad's first episode...

I'm catching up with Fargo now and I guess it's more Odenkirk than I planned on watching.

bye june 02-15-2015 12:43 PM

So far I like it. I was never into Breaking Bad so I probably won't get any of the references but I love Bob Odenkirk.

mpp 02-15-2015 09:59 PM

really enjoying it

2nd better than 1st

so glad they did this

sppunk 02-15-2015 10:01 PM

I need to watch Breaking Bad, haven't seen an episode.

mpp 02-15-2015 10:09 PM

bb is very good -- 5 or 6 eps are in the mindblowing category and highly rewatchable

the story arc is excellent

freshfacedyouth 02-16-2015 02:18 AM

i'd thought since before the premiere it was going to be on every sunday and not monday, but nope, looked at the tv guide today to find stupid fucking the walking dead and talking dead there instead

guess i'll be tuning in tomorrow, along with everyone else

Eulogy 02-24-2015 09:19 AM

This show is already excellent.

Rider 02-24-2015 10:16 AM

I think as this show progresses I'm actually enjoying it more then Breaking Bad.

reprise85 02-24-2015 07:59 PM

I thought last weeks episode was meh but this one was great. So far very entertaining.

LaBelle 02-25-2015 10:16 AM

I think each episode has been an improvement on the last, tbh

bignothing 02-25-2015 11:23 AM

yeah, agreed. though last episode was acrophobia-inducing and made me look away.

Run To Me 02-25-2015 02:07 PM

Every time I see Bob's face I think of him dancing with a golf club as the president of the USA in the "change for a dollar" sketch from Mr. Show.

I wish I was better at the internet so I could post a kickass GIF of this b/c it just might be the most sublime moment of comedic tv I've ever seen.

killtrocity 02-25-2015 03:00 PM

Tuco felt shoehorned in, in the same way Chewbacca felt forced into Star Wars III. That's my only gripe though, it's been increasingly excellent.

seems the writers already know what kind of show they're aiming for.. whereas BB was kind of all over the map thematically. started out as a sort of black comedy kind of thing then later found its own identity

really loving this show. amc redeemed

killtrocity 02-25-2015 10:42 PM

That's a good point. BB Season 1 had the klepto plotline.

Vince Gilligan has another show starting on March 1st on CBS. Not the same BB team of writers and producers like Better Call Saul, but I'm really interested in it now

yo soy el mejor 02-26-2015 08:07 PM

this thread title keeps reminding me of a song. i'm finally gonna listen to it.
