Do any of you guys have any love for soft-rock?

So lets sit back, and enjoy some nice, calming, inspiring soft rock

Heres one of my all-time favorites

fuzzyroes 10-30-2014 04:44 AM

fuzzyroes 10-30-2014 04:51 AM

Shallowed 10-30-2014 11:16 AM

Itacolumite is my favourite soft rock. So underrated. Most people haven't heard of it, but I think you guys would enjoy checking it out.

I've got a soft spot for this one:

One of my all time favourites, just rocks me to my core:

Shallowed 10-30-2014 11:18 AM

So soft that it bends. How can you not love this?

MyOneAndOnly 10-30-2014 11:29 AM

soft rock is a genre, not a radio friendly ballad by Whitesnake

boston and van halen are in no way "soft"

As a band, I definitely agree. But both of those tracks had cross over appeal and were played frequently on the soft-rock stations.

Elphenor 10-30-2014 06:11 PM

"Soft Rock" is probably the worst genre ever

at least Alan Parsons makes a partial save.

c'mon fuzzy, you can do it. Name a real soft rock song from a real soft rock band.

I think you have issues with your dad, because of your "dad rock" syndrome, try therapy maybe?

toase 10-30-2014 08:53 PM

i think this one goes to that 'feel good' thread too

also, thanks slunken and TOC, nice tracks

fuzzyroes 10-31-2014 08:02 PM

A lot of nice listening in here.

I guess I'm not versed in soft-rock all that well. But I remember growing up with it a lot. I mean, pretty much in those days these were the stations constantly playing at any department or grocery store, doctor/dentist offices, barber shop ETC.

Those 2 songs I posted were definitely in high rotation on the soft-rock stations so I don't think it matters that they're not your typical "soft-rock band". The song that Starla posted is definitely soft rock too and White Snake isn't your typical SRB either.

The exploding boy 10-31-2014 08:29 PM

THIS BASSLINE IS AWESOME I DONT CARE WHO YOU ARE

toase 10-31-2014 08:29 PM

I don't know what soft rock is, actually

Can we say Elton John, The Carpenters, George Harrison, Kate Bush and Peter Gabriel are soft rock?

The exploding boy 10-31-2014 08:31 PM

well its hard to define acts because most soft rock songs you hear on the radio are not from exclusively soft rock bands. Elton John spent most of his career being soft rock i would say. Kate bush though? I wouldn tcall it that no. Peter gabriel, depends what.
