i like the orioles because mcnulty

real tough call though royals appeal to every "they were inconceivably shitty for 15 years" underdog story but the O's were just as bad

whichums? i'll guess the creepy british one.

off the symbols i don't see a crossover occuring. It'll either be Royals vs Giants or Cards vs O's.

RIBS FOR ALL!

So glad Baltimore got swept.

fuzzyroes 10-16-2014 05:00 AM

I was rooting for Baltimore. Pretty hard to have a decent chance at winning it all without Weiters, Machado and Davis in the lineup though.

I think KC goes all the way now. They should be able to take SF/STL

sppunk 10-16-2014 09:22 AM

Davis was one of the worst everyday player in baseball thos year.

Skradgee 10-16-2014 11:52 AM

Baltimore. :/ I watched last night. They'd come so far. What a year.

VS

It's a great match-up this year. KC and the type of team they are makes this an atypical series, along with the Giants going for a legitimate claim towards a dynasty.

What's funneh is MLB and Selig didn't like the frequency in which wild card teams were making the world series, so they added a couple teams for the playoffs and the "play in" wild card game. They wanted winning the division to mean more and make it tougher for the wild card teams to get there. So much for that this year.

sppunk 10-16-2014 11:42 PM

Second straight year Wacha was lit up in deciding ganes by a LH hitter. Good.

The Omega Concern 10-21-2014 08:08 PM

my biggest worry for the G'men is the Royals bullpen. Even if they manage to shut down the speed by keeping it off the bases (no free ones for sure), I don't want to see each of these games get reduced to 6 innings. Giants can play that way sure, but as a fan, I'd just as well not stress it like that for 6 or 7 games.

Giants in 5 with Madbum on the hill for that game, or they're in some Barney going back to KC for 6 and 7.

obviously split on the road. but tonight is more must win for the G's than Royals. Be good to get off them off their high horse early.

Why do ppl care about such nonsense. This is a better example of the human species going down the drain than any thing else toc complains about.

It's the opposite: it's a perfect distraction to let us momentarily forget humans are going down the drain.

Baseball is a sport where the post game stat sheet is more exciting than the game itself

Sports are nonsense and a self indulgent distraction. And counterrevolutionary. Categorically different from watching David fincher movies, game of throne, smoking weed, real time strategy games and porn

Royals were shook from the first inning. Like they had no idea what they were doing, and were scared shitless. Downhill from there.

Here's to game two. :(

Might be as simple as one team happy to be there and the other team not happy unless they win it. Plus, a young team that hasn't been to the playoffs in forever's (let alone the WS) has a pent up fan base and when that team opens the series at home, it can get over-amped and geeked up and not play the same because of the different adrenaline.

For the G's, its just another game.

Bumgarner went 21 plus innings in WS starts before giving up his first run. Also his first run giving up on the road in over 30 playoff innings.

Royals threw 176 pitches.

It'll be interesting to see how Ventura handles it tomorrow. I like his talent level and he could step up, but he'll be hyped that first inning, maybe the G's can grind out some AB's early on. Peavey has some ugly history against a few of the Royals hitters though, he's a bulldog though, he'll battle.

The Omega Concern 10-22-2014 02:04 AM

oh, and I hope that Brandon Finnegan gets in a game. He'll be the first player in history to play in the College and Major League world series in the same year...very fuckin cool.

The Omega Concern 10-25-2014 07:49 PM

Tit for tat the first two games and then last night goes to form for KC and that triple-headed monster in their relief core.

Tonight's basically must-win now for the G's. They're gonna have to figure out how to beat the 3 armed death ring eventually, cuz having to win in 5 innings is equally as tough.

The Omega Concern 10-25-2014 07:51 PM

that Finnegan guy did pitch last night.

Pretty sweet for a player to be pitching for TCU in the CWS three months ago and somehow find himself pitching in the MLB WS in a high leverage situation. Unreal. too late for that reality show though, i woulda watched that one.
