Ebola

Time to quarantine Texas.

Hopefully Houston gets it next.

A patient was diagnosed with Ebola in the United States for the first time, CNBC reported, citing the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).

Until Tuesday, Ebola patients had only been treated in the U.S. after being diagnosed elsewhere.

The AP confirmed the news.

According to WFAA.com, the patient was being treated at a Dallas hospital.

This is not a huge deal here whatsoever. It's only transmittable after symptoms appear and only by bodily fluid.

MyOneAndOnly 09-30-2014 09:05 PM

That's what Obama says

duovamp 09-30-2014 09:32 PM

Can you get it from drinking someone else's jenkem?

Trotskilicious 09-30-2014 09:57 PM

Heres hopung at least 3/4ths of humanity dies off

The exploding boy 10-01-2014 10:11 AM

yeah but it's all about who dies.

Well i suppose the upper crust is probably gonna be spared. thank god for that. the poor can all die with blood flowing out of every orifices like it was always their destiny to do anyway. The way i see it, it's gonna solve the third world problem nicely. And then when there'll finally be enough resources for everyone over there I can stop having to feel guilty for not handing out my fairly easily earned cash to help them. It's time people start focusing on the positive aspect of this epidemic, i say.

you

Trotskilicious 10-03-2014 04:25 AM

i almost think three quarters would be too much doesn' that still leave like TWO BILLION PEOPLE

The exploding boy 10-03-2014 07:30 AM

I wont die because i'm an hermit and hypochondriac meaning i'll pretty much wash everything I touch or bring home if it ever gets bigger. also probably leave the city to go live back in the boonies where my family is and limit social contacts even more. I'll probably be ok.

You on the other hand are in texas. Ground zero for north america as it will come to be known.

MyOneAndOnly 10-03-2014 07:32 AM

It's likely that the earth can't sustain more than a billion people. I've seen estimates of 500 million to 1 billion. So if there's going to be a culling it should get the number down below a billion or we won't be any better off.

we probably don't need Ebola, though. Cause in a hundred years or so there won't be enough food to feed 10 or 15 billion people and most of them will die. Also the oceans will rise and most of today's farmland will be too dry and hot to grow food.

MyOneAndOnly 10-03-2014 07:37 AM

I look at people who are having kids and I think "are you fucking crazy?"

When people come into the ER the first thing I ask/scream at them is "Jesus fuck you haven't been to West Africa have you?!?!" while holding a gloved hand over my face.

The exploding boy 10-03-2014 09:01 AM

I'm gonna start coughing like in lines at the grocery and then say something like "sorry ive been feeling off ever since i came back from that trip. Have you ever been to liberia? It's a beautiful place"

The only thing we're nervous about (here) at the moment is enterovirus. :/

Another American being flown home with Ebola

We need journalists to cover what's going on over there, but I can't imagine what goes through someone's head when they volunteer for gigs like that.

"I want to pee out of my ass until I die."

The exploding boy 10-03-2014 02:36 PM

Thing is the guy in texas not only went to liberia (i think it was liberia) but also helped a sick pregnant woman get to the hospital there which is how he got it. WHAT IS WRONG WITH YOU!? i'm all for helping others AS LONG AS HELPING THEM ISN'T BOUND TO CAUSE MY DEATH. In which case it's sorry buddy but you're on your own, bye. I'm sure his family thinks very highly of him having tried to save a random woman now.

Just wait until it goes airborne.

The exploding boy 10-03-2014 04:09 PM

I was reading an article yesterday on why its preferable NOT to close flights coming and going to those countries. I still wasn't convinced.

And yeah, if it gets airborne then all bets are off for sure. I mean if it becomes as easy to catch as the flu, i'd really be leaving the city at least for bit. though id think at the first sign of this they WOULD shut down the flights. anything else would be very irresponsible. Quarantine the countries, what else could you do.

The thing though is Nigeria is proving how just a bit of education and infrastructure goes a long way. so far they've only had like 20 cases. They're densely populated but also richer and better organized than a lot of surrounding countries. I think it shows we don't have to worry much here. Still though, good old human fallibility like in Texas will be responsible for some spreading. It bears to mention in Nigeria those who caught it had 60% survival rate, in western hospitals conditions, I heard it was 100. Sounds like far from a picnic but survivable in the proper conditions. Except maybe for kids and elderly i suppose, like the flu. Does sound a LOT worse than the flu of course.

The Ebola won't get you, but the vaccine will if you let it...errrr, when they require it.

teb...youre *that* close to understanding it isn't Ebola they're hyping up.

You may already know the locals in Liberia believe Ebola to be a scam, to be a hoax.

July 23: Sierra Leone Ministry of Health and Sanitation announced on its Facebook page an emergency crack down on Kenema, including the order for “Tulane University to stop Ebola testing during the current Ebola outbreak.”

The dramatic drop in Ebola cases in Kenema since this crack down fuels suspicions that it was the researchers attached to Tulane University who were giving a false Ebola diagnosis to justify a course of treatment which then gave healthy people Ebola.

This is why some gangs in the region are attacking the 'helpers' and the hospitals.

http://www.medicaldaily.com/ebola-cl...ts-flee-298388

At least they're fighting back. I'm sure most Americans will believe the propaganda and fall in line for the 'treatments'. You might as well suck Bill Gates cock while your at it.

cause everyone knows that the best way to kill people is to give them something that protects them from getting sick.

MyOneAndOnly 10-03-2014 08:32 PM

Imagine doing away with tens of thousands of polio deaths every year and replacing it with a super sneaky vaccine program that leaves no evidence of any deaths or injuries.

that would be truly devious

.

butthurt 10-03-2014 08:35 PM

Every year it's something. I guess it keeps the news channels in business.
