of course you have to "invent" a psychological disorder. you find the data, you match it with your texts, you research and research and research and find a pattern in behavior that indicates some kind of here-to-fore either undiagnosed, misdiagnosed, or unknown problem

however, i do think these illnesses are a product of post industrialcapitalism. ADHD i think is rooted in television, the rise in bipolar and major depression is because literally you CANNOT SERIOUSLY SLEEP AT NIGHT CONSIDERING HOW TERRIBLE THE WORLD IS

This is a weird reaction considering I was paraphrasing an expert who was interviewed either on Colbert or Daily Show. I think it was Colbert, but I can't find a video clip of it.

Like, I didn't even comment on whether I thought it was accurate.

I was watching Friends yesterday and Chandler made an Ebola joke.

Trotskilicious 10-15-2014 12:39 AM

it's been around a while, there's been epidemics before. probably around the time you were born

also why the fuck are you watching friends

Elphenor 10-15-2014 12:41 AM

I love super white shitty sitcoms for some reason. Idk. Like I'll watch a marathon of Everybody Loves Raymond. It's like an escape into this mystical world where the only problem is your wife won't let you play golf and your Mom won't stop bringing you free food.

Elphenor 10-15-2014 12:48 AM

The 90's must have been awesome.

Trotskilicious 10-15-2014 01:18 AM

it wasn't, it sucked just like everything else does

Trotskilicious 10-15-2014 01:19 AM

but yeah, before 9/11 people thought being suburban was terrible, which raised a generation of douchebag hipsters to move to the inner city and get blind drunk because our culture has committed suicide and deep down all of us know that the end is coming and it will be because of our unchecked consumption and unrepentant greed

Elphenor 10-15-2014 01:26 AM

I love Seinfeld so much. I used to watch it with my brother all the time because he has a weird love for Jerry even as a comedian. We'd memorize the lines and act out bits.

But I don't like how they advertise it as a "show about nothing". It has the same sort of flow as every other sitcom with a start, a problem, a complication to the problem, an unexpected solution, and just when you think the problem's all solved a little joke as the credits roll

Elphenor 10-15-2014 01:30 AM

I just assume the 90's must have been super carefree because my only experience with them are shows where the biggest problem likely to occur is not knowing how to deal with a particular social situation

noyen 10-15-2014 02:39 AM

I think TV may be your enemy. How often do you get outside. You're 20 but sound like your 8.

Trotskilicious 10-15-2014 02:44 AM

i'm a 14 year old going on 33

noyen 10-15-2014 02:53 AM

I am a 38 year old teenager, hello future boyfriend

Trotskilicious 10-15-2014 02:58 AM

future? I thought we already were boyfriends

noyen 10-15-2014 03:02 AM

I am stuck living in the pass /Monte. So I am here right now except when we have sex I'm thinking about someone from the 90's. her name is Janette. Sometimes Carolyn. Then there was Sarah and a fling with Spava.

noyen 10-15-2014 03:03 AM

Should we use this thread to trade porn in openly? Can we get viznixs kids to watch?

Trotskilicious 10-15-2014 04:02 AM

hopefully

Trotskilicious 10-15-2014 04:02 AM

from the look of her fanny pack wearing dweeb kids, they are going to be porn connoisseurs

I don't watch sitcoms but i have a feeling that probably hasn't changed.

the 90's were terrible though, i kinda hate my generation. Not that the one after is better.

Watch the xfiles. I always thought it was a dark depressing series. Plus it's about problems nobody ever has to deal with like how to stop an alien conspiracy...(well ok i guess TOC has to deal with those). I like it but ill watch an episode and think my god look at these people being all in the 90's, i feel like slitting my wrists.

Or you could watch my so called life. It's always been hard being a suburban teenager.

Elphenor 10-15-2014 10:52 AM

I don't actually think the 90's didn't suck.

In its movies it was.

The exploding boy 10-15-2014 11:53 AM

It always was.

Though it's still below Arizona and Florida in the top ten list of states that need to go. We should make such a list of entertainment purposes.

I say Alaska too. Now there's only 6 more to find. After that we can put them in order.

Yah...and here's a link that shows Bill Gates getting sued in India because apparently those folks aren't nearly as brainwashed as Americans when it comes to Eugenicist freaks who wish to kill people in the name of saving the planet.

Haha that's pretty succinct. I dig the same shit for the same reason. I love watching King of Queens. It's just so ridiculous.

Yeah, it really isn't a show about nothing. The shows concept was to show how a comedian got his material. That's why they always had the standup segments featured on the show. They got away from this in the later seasons, but that was the initial premise.

You watch Curb your Enthusiasm at all?
