once in a while something will be held up and someone will make snide comments about people mooching off the system or whatever. meanwhile they don't realize like 60% of our customers use SNAP and they just have no idea. i honestly wish i didnt even see it when i ring people up, i dont like to think it changes how i talk to anyone. it does bother me a little when people buy a bunch of lobster or whatever but that happens soooo rarely. like maybe 2-3 times a year. i will admit to that though i wish it didn't affect me.

I'm just of the attitude that one day I could have a family and be broke and maybe it's been a really shit year and I'm like "You know what, we haven't had lobster in awhile".

yeah but cash seems to be a lot harder to get. i had food stamps for a while, just the food part, as far as i can tell it's much harder to get cash benefits. i only see it a couple times a day. its def only if you have kids and seems like very short term but im not really sure.

I for sure qualify for SNAP but am too lazy to apply.

Have you considered that people with a lot of money in their cash accounts are just good at budgeting and have it 'saved'? I mean I see people with big $$$ too, but it's like damned if they spend it on "food they don't need" and damned if they save it and their balance is "too big"
