autism scripting and literacy

There is a boy in my class who does a lot of scripting meaning he memorizes and repeats what he hears in videos or from television. He's reading above his grade level. I speculated that he reads so well because of his scripting and the teacher agreed its probably because of his ability to memorize so well.

noyen 09-25-2014 10:35 PM

maybe you should take him out.

slunken 09-25-2014 11:08 PM

I have laid more shit on Kimani than probably anybody else on here over his time and i'd take a hundred more of him over even one of you.

Trotskilicious 09-26-2014 03:52 AM

oh he's not as bad as poots now he's just a kid i think he's just son of netphoria, he's not really any different from any other asshole who started posting here when they were 20 all hip to interpol and post punk

Elphenor 09-26-2014 04:18 AM

I've honestly never listened to Interpol

Trotskilicious 09-26-2014 04:18 AM

you would have if you were doing this shit in 2003 when everyone else was

Elphenor 09-26-2014 04:21 AM

I'm listening to them right now. This is not enjoyable at all

Trotskilicious 09-26-2014 04:25 AM

oh i fucking hate it, i've hated it since the beginning. i hate it now, i'll hate it forever. i fucking hate interpol

it's just like the strokes

Elphenor 09-26-2014 04:30 AM

I dig the Strokes actually. But not as this like great post-punk revival or whatever they're just a fun listen that aligns with my tastes just enough.

But Interpol is just really dull at least that's my impression after a few songs

Trotskilicious 09-26-2014 04:35 AM

fucking hate the strokes, the are forever an MTV band to me and that's hypocritical because the band i liked at the tiem whas the white stripes but i always felt like they had one hit song and people are like OH THE WHITE STRIPES SEVEN NATION ARMY GREAT BAND and i'm like THERE'S NO HOME FOR YOU HERE GO GO AWAY THERE'S NO HOME FOR YOU HEEERRRHHHRRR

and then that was also my period of intense listening to the classics of rock. you know the rolling of the stones the zeppelins of led the jimmy of house hendrix the second of his name etc

Elphenor 09-26-2014 04:39 AM

White Stripes are awesome.

I hate how every band from that time was given the "revival" tag. Like White Stripes are "garage rock revival".
None of these genres died or needed to be reborn. Why can't bands just be bands.

vixnix 09-26-2014 04:44 AM

So is this the same as how my ex boyfriend and ex best friend... The ones who hooked up with each other after I broke up with him for the last time, memorized all the dialogue from Monty Python and recited it together? Or is it only an autistic trait in young kids.

FTR the people I've mentioned were 20 when this stuff happened.

I memorized things too, just different things. Mainly Resevoir Dogs as a 15 year old. Was that an autistic thing to do? FTR I was 15 when I did that. When does memorising things from tv shows and movies stop being an autistic trait?

Also I memorised second declension neuter noun form while studying Latin. And also 1st conjugation present indicative verb form. When I was three I memorised my grandparents phone number, is that autistic? Is that autistic?

FTR I have never had an official diagnosis but I did create one for myself based on auto- didactic instruction using internet sources, and some experts in the field have verified that the diagnostic criteria I used was correct and useful and my program for autism diagnosis has actually been reviewed by one of these experts, and as soon as they can arrange testing for it, I will be on the road to being a professional autism diagnoser.

Trotskilicious 09-26-2014 04:48 AM

although i really love that last paragraph like it basically redeems everything you've ever done because it's that brilliant

Trotskilicious 09-26-2014 04:48 AM

the ex best friend may have been female.

Elphenor 09-26-2014 04:55 AM

I also read it as both of them being male for some reason

Trotskilicious 09-26-2014 04:57 AM

do you know why? because they memorized all of monty python's holy grail

Elphenor 09-26-2014 05:03 AM

Yeah that sounds like something I would do

Elphenor 09-26-2014 05:04 AM

I think I only know one female Monty Python fan and she's a goth chick who's cooler than I could ever hope to be

Trotskilicious 09-26-2014 05:12 AM

doesn't sound like it
