i would try to make a deal. never do month to month unlesss you're about to move out

butthurt 09-12-2014 08:41 PM

Having to move is so stressful...sorry man.

noyen 09-12-2014 08:51 PM

you in florida or did you move to colorado?

Bread Regal 09-12-2014 09:06 PM

No, we're still in Florida. We would probably be even more function if we went to Colorado. We were arty planning on moving around December, so I guess this isn't that much of an inconvenience. I'll be selling my car pretty soon for at least two grand so at least I will have that money in hand for a deposit even though our credit sucks. It's just going to be a pain in the ass especially since it's happening in the middle of the semester like this.

ah, fuck. i have a friend in colorado that rents out his house and is looking for tenants. you'll always be able to find places that will work with you, even if it's some "policy". i've found that almost all complexes will do leeway just to occupy an apartment that is sitting unrented. have some hope, you're not totally screwed. if you're up front about how long you plan on staying in a place, and why you do not have a deposit hopefully there is someone out there who understands. lots of private renters. even the corporate renter places are run by basically franchise douche bags trying to meet a quota. sooner than later i guess. hope it works out man.

Order 66 09-12-2014 09:23 PM

even the most douchiest/incompetent of management/landlords will work something out with you... everybody needs a place to stay. especially when you're already staying there

though in my experience that doesn't apply to smaller complexes in "good" areas .. dem landlords cutthroat

sometimes the voice recognition in my phone reveals the southern twang in my voice.

I might try to cut a deal with them, but on the other hand we were planning on moving anyway and if I sell the car soon, I will have more than enough cash on hand for a deposit *** month's rent. And moving earlier would be better than later since that would be less time for that cache of funds to deplete. The situation isn't that dire I guess. It's just that it's not on our terms.

Trotskilicious 09-12-2014 10:45 PM

I love when the phone phonetically translates my twang

I also love to confuse it with deep south slurring

TuralyonW3 09-12-2014 11:04 PM

that's some shit.

just keep your head up and power your way through the degree man

reprise85 09-13-2014 12:12 AM

moving always sucks, especially when it's unexpected. good luck man. plus you have the pets and stuff

JokeyLoki 09-13-2014 12:28 AM

Sucks :(

Sonic Johnny 09-13-2014 12:36 AM

Come stay with me

hnibos 09-13-2014 10:39 AM

Maybe if you weren't so lazy and worked harder you'd be happier in life.

hnibos 09-13-2014 10:39 AM

Probably would have kids and then you'd be a complete adult

Bread Regal 09-13-2014 10:02 PM

If I had kids we'd be living in our car.

Bread Regal 09-13-2014 10:14 PM

D said that when she walked the dogs yesterday, many people's doors had the notes on them in the same form, so it's highly possible that the same thing is happen to many of the other tenants here. As a white dude from comfortable circumstances, I've been wary of crying "gentrification" but it's now very clear that this is what's happening.

The new owners are pouring a ton of money into making the place look nice i.e. overhauling the landscaping, remodling the leasing office and (my personal favorite) replacing the basketball courts with racquetball courts. It's in the middle of a pretty run down area. Rent rates that are typically lower-middle class and below.

It kind of sucks. We will probably move to Eatonville since that is much closer to where D works and she doesn't drive.

Trotskilicious 09-13-2014 10:16 PM

Thats what it is defs

Suburban white kids want to be urban cuz its hip, parents will pay for the rent ; white kids still say neihborhood is 'shady' after they completely take it over

killtrocity 09-13-2014 11:43 PM

To be fair though isn't it sort of a joint effort between the housing developers, the police and the lawmakers? Those guys are the jackals or the lions or whatever. The suburban kids are vultures, parasites

Trotskilicious 09-14-2014 12:38 AM

no the white kids initiate the demand on inner city neighborhoods because they are "quaint" and "urban" and "old" and "vintage"

i dunno how lawmakers or po lice are involved

Trotskilicious 09-14-2014 12:41 AM

i should be nice, it starts out because rent is dirt cheep. those enteprising souls that create the trend...all those poor ass white guys in austin that started it were musicians and artists and such, thus all the sycophants that want to glom onto that culture will attach a cache to williamsburg, east austin, silver lake from what i hear and other places like them and then the assholes arrive in numbers

in the 80s, throwing one huge party would have solved everything.

thoughts?

Order 66 09-14-2014 06:00 PM

the fat white landlord in a business suit enters the room, his tie loosened and his shirt unbuttoned at the neck. "well bread regal," he says, "if this carefully coordinated party told through a montage taught me anything is greed is the wrong way to go." he pulls out the contract and rips it apart. "to heck with it, everybody at generic apartment complex can stay however long they want!"

everybody cheers. tears for fears blasts as camera pans out of the ongoing party. roll credits

butthurt 09-14-2014 06:06 PM

Should have funneled some of that weed money into an emergency fund. :mrpimp:

Bread Regal 09-14-2014 06:20 PM

What are you talking about.

Shallowed 09-15-2014 12:46 AM

For what it's worth, I'm pretty sure the only things I've seen you post about your place have been negative, so getting away from there could be good for you.

Trotskilicious 09-15-2014 02:11 AM

they say san anotnio is like 400 for a 2 bedroom i say we go

Looks like bubble money from the QE propping up the markets a bit before the election. Your landlord is a sucker who'll be left holding the debt before its all and said and done. The money he's spending came from somewhere and I'm sure a local council member is getting greased as well. Pump and Dump and look for the dump after this November.
