Apple Watch

Not sure if want. It's pretty reasonably priced, and it does more than tell time, so it's basically better than any watch. But is it actually going to be useful and worth the price? Anyway, glad Apple is trying a new market. What say you?

noyen 09-09-2014 07:08 PM

Which is fine for me, but honestly it'd be a thousand times cooler as a standalone device. The next generations are probably going to be independent rather than little iPhone feti.

I'm guessing he doesn't use his as a stupid personal trainer then. Good. Honestly who needs a damn watch to tell you how many steps you took?

slunken 09-09-2014 07:54 PM

it's a hat that is also a mobile telephone

myosis 09-09-2014 08:20 PM

aren't wristwatches already made obsolete by smartphones?

Bread Regal 09-09-2014 08:24 PM

not if you want to pretend you're on star trek the original series

Eulogy 09-09-2014 08:30 PM

What'd the price end up being? I read quite a bit about it today and can't see myself using one regularly. But eh. A couple things about it seemed neat?

Elvis The Fat Years 09-09-2014 08:30 PM

about tree fitty.

MyOneAndOnly 09-09-2014 08:31 PM

on star trek used flip phones

dick tracy had a phone watch

F.Delacroix 09-09-2014 08:44 PM

looking forward to holding my wrist up to my mouth and talking onto it

F.Delacroix 09-09-2014 08:44 PM

then holding it up to my ear

F.Delacroix 09-09-2014 08:45 PM

hello?
you'll have to speak up; i'm on my watch-phone

is this thing on?

Eulogy 09-09-2014 08:50 PM

That's not what it does or is for

noyen 09-09-2014 08:57 PM

it's a fitbit with a screen and other shit.

duovamp 09-09-2014 09:04 PM

More or less. And yeah, $350.

Also in 2 years a new one will come out and you'll look like a huge dork if you have the old one. So the cost to keep upgrading should be considered...

noyen 09-09-2014 09:11 PM

i will judge every single person who has one of these on their arms. sorry. these have been around forever but now that apple does it, it's innovation? snoooze. u2 as well. bloooorthhgh.

Sonic Johnny 09-09-2014 09:17 PM

Hey while we're talking about Apple did anybody else wake up this morning to find the new U2 album already in their iTunes? I feel violated.

i cant even think about this shit anymore without dwelling on how the most profitable consumer products company in history as well as all its competitors scramble to fit in as many new amazing incredible features in a never ending series of fantastical gizmos and yet the unprecedented apex of global economic supply and demand and exponentially advancing technology have still failed to even come close to producing a single device with even a tiny shitty optional solar cell, or that is designed to last over 2 years or be somewhat recycleable, or that isn't completely dependent on a suicidal labor force and radioactive rare earth mining

ohnoitsbonnie 09-09-2014 10:38 PM

Banana clock

MyOneAndOnly 09-09-2014 10:43 PM

Banana can't handle the truth

"If you move from one time zone to another, Apple Watch automatically adjusts."

I can't wait to get one! Basic math is a twentieth century skill that needs to go the way of the covered wagon.

noyen 09-09-2014 11:20 PM

now they're used primarily for accessories/jewelry. it's trendy to get digital watches for some dumb reason

expensive watches will never go out of style though, how else will people know you're rich?

Trotskilicious 09-10-2014 01:16 AM

and yeah seriously what the fuck is wrong with people
