Damien Echols was/is guilty.

Deal with it.

reprise85 09-03-2014 05:49 PM

i don't doubt that he is perhaps sociopathic but there is little evidence he committed the crimes, afaik. why are you bringing this up?

Elijah Moon 09-03-2014 05:52 PM

I brought it up as I knew nothing about it till I took out his book ('Life After Death') from my library. I thought it would be an uplifting and interesting account of being wrongfully convicted and finally winning freedom.

About a third of the way in I got the impression he was guilty. It was pretty much gut instinct, really. And then I did some research that convinced me he was guilty. A lot of good info. on the case is at wm3truth.com

I felt dirty for reading his book and indulging his lies and rich fantasy life.

noyen 09-03-2014 05:53 PM

trolls are really stepping up their game here.

Elijah Moon 09-03-2014 05:54 PM

But, of course, poor Damien was framed because he had a Metallica t-shirt and read Steven King.

noyen 09-03-2014 05:59 PM

how much do you know about the case, fact wise, putting your gut feeling aside. I think echols is a douche noe that he's out but I still believe in their innocence. the whole wiccan thing doesn't scream intelligence and his occupy interest is cool if you're 15 but if you look at facts and DNA evidence and lack thereof and a coerced confession its plain to see it was a clusterfuck of a case and those three were just scapegoats for bad police work.

noyen 09-03-2014 06:01 PM

also how do you explain all the recounted testimony people gave that was the whole basis for the case against them? gut feeling is he is a douche and infantile but not a murderer of 3 kids with his then buddies.

reprise85 09-03-2014 06:08 PM

yeah i went on a binge on WM3 info for a while a year or so ago. totally agree with noyen's opinion.

Elijah Moon 09-03-2014 06:09 PM

I still feel he's guilty. My "gut instinct" certainly wasn't based on his "weird" ways or his position as an outsider. I simply found him to seem very false. I haven't read everything about the case and maybe it's better I haven't seen the documentaries - I feel it gives me a more objective view, since I've been told the films are biased and are pure propaganda from all the people he duped.

noyen 09-03-2014 06:16 PM

The films are certainly not propaganda. You don't even have to watch the three paradise lost documentaries or devils knot or any other book or movie to find the court documents on the net. echols at the time liked the attention and perhaps delusional. the confession given by his friend has an IQ that of a retard and is rife with factual errors and pretty much proven invalid and coerced. saying youve retained a more objective view of it by not researching both sides of it, and only listening to a lizard people site is a huge contradiction, I hope you see this. Otherwise good job at trolling or whatever you're doing. Enjoy the hell wrath of netphoria.

noyen 09-03-2014 06:19 PM

(Wm3truth website is a desperate attempt at ignoring facts and hanging on to decades old lies and mkstruths) come on, for real? That shit is run by inbreds.

Trotskilicious 09-03-2014 08:22 PM

All points of view are valid, gotta read both to find out the truth!

:noway:

the case against them was bullshit. everyone knows it.

you should consider the fact that you're locked up in a mental institution before you trust your feelings again.

Trotskilicious 09-03-2014 08:59 PM

Scotty you dick

MyOneAndOnly 09-03-2014 09:03 PM

he's trolling. fuck him

reprise85 09-03-2014 09:11 PM

:noway:

do we need a mental health awareness day or something

Trotskilicious 09-03-2014 09:44 PM

Fuck it.

MyOneAndOnly 09-03-2014 09:45 PM

fuck mental health I don't need it!

TuralyonW3 09-03-2014 10:00 PM

The WM3 Doc I saw was very engaging (the most recent high profile one). You would definitely think Echols was not guilty, but who can ever really know? He certainly wasn't properly tried and it's fitting that he's free.

killtrocity 09-04-2014 01:21 AM

The adoptive stepfather did it, hellooooooooo

Elijah Moon 09-04-2014 05:49 AM

Yeah, I felt stupid last night after realizing I'd claimed to be more "objective" by not seeing the documentaries. But didn't the guy who confessed confess on three separate occasions? And I read that it didn't take much "coercing" and that he wasn't actually "retarded" or anything, just not the brightest button. Anyway, everyone's entitled to their opinion. I am not sure what I'm doing, but it isn't trolling, I don't think.

Trotskilicious 09-04-2014 05:55 AM

no, not everyone is entitled to their own opinion

Elijah Moon 09-04-2014 06:24 AM

Is that your honest opinion?

Hardly. Maybe it was a flood at first, but now it's just a trickle.

if you listen to the audio of jesse's original confession, it def sounds like he is being led. plus we don't know what they told him before the confession.

it doesn't matter if he is medically retarded or not. he has a low IQ and is easily led to say what others want him to say and to what he thinks will end the confrontation. notice his very unsophisticated way of saying he left after something particularly disturbing happened and then continuing to tell what happened, without missing a beat. he tells the story like it is no big deal. he should have had a lawyer.

Elijah Moon 09-04-2014 11:20 AM

People highlight his mental deficiencies in his defense, but couldn't those very difficulties have resulted in him sounding matter-of-act or distant when recounting the crime? The fact he might sound stilted or removed isn't necessarily a sign he was being led.
