Btw is this the same justice system that incarcerates innocent black men on a daily basis and let george zimmerman walk free?

Elphenor 08-21-2014 11:08 PM

This country averages an impressive 2 black people shot to death by cops a week.

America's systemic racism pushes blacks into poverty and then murders them through the racist "justice system".

The question shouldn't be why are people rioting. It should be why were they not already rioting.

Elphenor 08-21-2014 11:16 PM

The way you know Omega is just a racist right winger is that instead of being like: "POLICE ARE COVERING THINGS UP AND KILLING PEOPLE"
He's like "Yeah more information is needed"

BUT THE RIOTS WERE SOMEHOW SET UP

You do realize it's common knowledge that cops are racist right?
To the point where we all make jokes about it "Got pulled over today good thing I wasn't with my black friend" hahaha
It's almost like prison rape jokes. Everyone knows it happens but we all laugh about because it doesn't happen to US.

Elphenor 08-21-2014 11:59 PM

Pretty much only racists or idiots use the term "white guilt"

How self centered to think I'd actually give enough of a shit about you to hate you.

:erm:

you don't actually believe that do you?

We're at a place in our society where everyone knows it's a bad thing to be racist, but actual racists have no idea what racism is.

Just do a once-over of the comments sections on any Ferguson, MO article on foxnation.com or breitbart.com and you'll see swaths of white people who believe that Brown assaulted the cop or that he tried to reach for the cops gun. If those things were true, then yeah, it's significantly easer to justify Brown's killing.

Nothing we've seen corroborates any of that, but if you're a racist who has been fed lies about black people your entire life, it's perfectly plausible. And it stands to reason that the longer you go in believing a lie, the harder it is to be convinced otherwise.

Are racists bad people? Not necessarily. Are they humans who are easily persuaded to believe lies through appeals to fear, emotion or narcissism? Absolutely.

This should be federal law.

Yesterday a listener called in to a sports radio show around here to voice his opinion that LeGarrette Blount is a "thug" both on and off the field.

The DJ jumped right on him and it was actually impressive. He was like "What are you talking about? What do you mean a thug? Because he punched a white boy who was asking to be punched?"

The caller was like "No I've seen his tape and he just plays like a thug."

So the DJ berated the caller some more, asking for any specifics at all, then cut him off and flatly called him a racist idiot. It was beautiful.

Simply seeing the world through that lens where the white player on the field would never be described as a thug... It's impossible to get someone to realize that their whole point of view is completely and utterly biased. He sees Blount run over a defender and he's a thug. He sees Heath Miller run over a defender and he's just a tough white man. How can you explain to someone that their perspective itself is wrong?

Elphenor 08-22-2014 04:14 PM

most people will be like: "yeah, it's morally wrong to be racist" if you asked them because no one wants to be called a racist

But they don't understand why it's a factually inaccurate view of the world. They still think the imbalance in wealth is caused by "black culture" Or something

Elphenor 08-22-2014 04:19 PM

My favorite stupid thing said about racism:

AMERICA IS NOT RACIST ANYMORE CIVIL RIGHTS HAPPENED LIKE A THOUSAND YEARS AGO.

Honorable mention goes to:

WHY ARE BLACKS SO RACIST TOWARDS WHITES, JUST BECAUSE MY GRANDPARENTS WERE RACIST DOESNT MEAN IM RACIST, RACISM GOES BOTH WAYS

On nfl.com there was some dumb article about vince young, and one of the comments was essentially that vince young is a stupid asshole

And i had to comment, 'why, because he's black and couldnt hack it in the nfl? He went back and graduated ut and works for a non profit." It sparked a debate that i had no interest in viewing

As an nba fan the thug comment is SUPER annoying to me, because i hear it from nfl and hockey fans. Visible black men are thugs i guess. Ive even seen people say kawhi leonard is a thug because corn rows. Really, Hes basically tim duncan.

Trotskilicious 08-22-2014 04:50 PM

Racism literally does not go both ways

Prejudice does, i know that first hand. But anything ive experienced pales in comparison to what women and non whites experience

Elphenor 08-22-2014 04:57 PM

People who say "racism goes both ways" are similar to people that say they're persecuted for being homophobic.
Just the highest level of twat.

Minorities are not complaining about a few assholes who were mean to them, it's the whole fucking system that's against them.

Preaching to the choir tho

MyOneAndOnly 08-22-2014 04:58 PM

my favorite is "reverse" racism. as if it's SUPPOSED to go the other way

Dogfighter28 08-22-2014 05:05 PM

i hope white people start being referred to as pales

Trotskilicious 08-22-2014 05:08 PM

Prejudice for me is getting dirty looks and being told im a long way from westlake
