Funny how most - myself included - rush to judge that this white cop blew him away just because of some mix of stupidity and racism, but who knows? Will be very interesting to hear his side of the story, and see if others corroborate it.

Not saying that's what happened - after all, who knows if this caller is really who she says she is - but really, it gave me pause to think about what's going on with this whole mess.

There's footage that shows someone who fits his description who very much appears to commit strong-arm robbery.

But it's been confirmed by the chief of police that the cop had no knowledge of this robbery

What prob happened was the cop was like "get out of the street"
And dude was like: "No, fuck you" or something

And then the cop was like "respect my authority" and shot him

Every time something like this happens, the victims life is scrutinized, and not the fucking cop. It's ridiculous. We should be looking into the past discretions of the police officer.

i agree it's murder. but the language used by the media and the cops is obviously intended to dehumanize the victim.

i've had to confront and detain shoplifters. I've dealt with the police afterwards. I've never heard anyone involved refer to "strong armed robbery" not even when a guy tried to steal 12 cartons of cigarettes and knocked two loss prevention people on their asses trying to get out the door.
