What's the email about?

It's a silkscreen print by artist CF (Chris Forgues)

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Christopher_Forgues

I think I got it for donating for one of his Powr Mastrs books to come out.

slunken 03-21-2014 07:40 PM

After the haircut I went to a carryout and got temple incense, a nascar lighter, a pack of cigarettes, and a 24oz stella. It took me an hour and a half to finish a medium Wendy's Frosty (stopped at wendy's too obv).

Before all that I spent two hours trying to dial in a guitar sound that I figured out last night even though I have a recording of it and left all the settings the same. I eventually got something pretty close to it I think maybe. Probably going to now spend the rest of Friday alernating between doing that and hanging out here.

It's been a pretty big day not.

slunken 03-21-2014 07:41 PM

dear diary...

hnibos 03-21-2014 07:44 PM

ooo, I haven't mentioned it here but I'm on day 18 of no cigarette whatsoever and I don't feel any better about myself or my life at all.

pavementtune 03-21-2014 08:00 PM

I failed. And started smoking again on Tuesday. I won't die healthy.

hnibos 03-21-2014 08:04 PM

Well, I'm cheating. Not sure what's better. A cheater or a quitter (quit quitting in your case).

Trotskilicious 03-21-2014 08:06 PM

it's time to boot scoot

I'd still go for cheating.

"Location: I'm a quitter. I come from a long line of quitters. It's amazing I'm here at all."

And I even quit quitting.
But I smoke far less than I used to, and I can feel the difference - like I don't start coughing after running for 2 minutes. That must do it for now.

hnibos 03-21-2014 08:11 PM

I guess I'd feel a difference if I ran but ain't nobody got time for that.

got it, a thread + a one liner in another = "clomping all over the boards"

seems logical

Eulogy 03-21-2014 08:19 PM

Just trying to head you off at the pass, so to speak.

Now shut up about it jesus

Shallowed 03-21-2014 08:19 PM

There's only like, four active threads.

pavementtune 03-21-2014 08:32 PM

It's official - I'm old. Friday evening and I'm opting to stay home by myself, bake and watch shitty online guitar tutorials while posting on a message board. Instead of going out and seeing a wrestling match .

i gave my cat some catnip and watched her go crazy for 15 minutes. caught up on internet. read the board while chomping on carrots and hummus.

it's been a good night. i think i might do some math homework before i go to sleep!

reprise85 03-21-2014 11:55 PM

tomorrow is my first day by myself at customer service. training is over. i actually got a lot of training, which is really good. when i first started i literally got 30 minutes of training on a register. i guess they're more worried about me processing 20-40k a day lol

What are you taking classes for?

reprise85 03-21-2014 11:57 PM

can i just say it feels good to not be a complete drone. yeah, what i'm doing isn't hard but it does take creative thinking and multitasking and doing math in your head and not just scanning things for 8 hours pretending you dont want to kill yourself

I will never forget my first retail job at Border's doing exactly that. There was this shitty children's book series or something and this guy was buying all of them, and one of the books was arbitrarily priced at 7.99 instead of 5.99, and he asked me to call my manager because clearly it was a mistake and I was like dude that's the price, yeah it's fuckin random and I agree with you, but that's the price, take it or leave it, and he got his undies all bunched up his ass, and the manager ended up coming and telling him exactly what I told him, and it was like hey dude welcome to America in 2007. He ended up not buying that one book out of principle which I'm sure forced the publisher into affecting a price change

killtrocity 03-22-2014 12:33 AM

TOTALLY KAFKAESQUE YO

One of the last times I was at Half Price Books this dude had a $5 off coupon and he didn't understand about how it says that you have to spend a certain amount to get that price off. He was basically trying to use a bunch of those coupons at different times to get free (under $5) paperbacks. Manager was called it was a giant mess. Sometimes I don't understand people.

TuralyonW3 03-22-2014 12:47 AM

people=shit

TuralyonW3 03-22-2014 12:48 AM

seriously though, people have issues in their personal lives and find or concoct ways to take out their anger and frustration on what they perceive as faceless employees. sickness

slunken 03-22-2014 12:50 AM

yes but modern rock radio champions one should be down with the sickness

slunken 03-22-2014 12:50 AM

what do?
