Graham is the type of hypocrite that defines modern christian conservatives.

This is a guy who supported Nixon's southern strategy and barely said a single word in support of equal rights while he spent the 50s and 60s touring the south and taking buckets of money from white racists.

He's the kind of sick fuck that talks about Jews like their evil monsters. He calls Mormonism a cult. But then took all the anti mormonism language off his website when Romney was nominated to run for president.

His son Franklin now runs his preaching business. He's stated publicly that he didn't know whether Obama was a christian and that technically Obama was a Muslim.

Graham preaches a version of christianity that views itself as "True Christianity." And in his view "true christians" are ALWAYS a minority. This is the right wing mindset that claims that Christians are being persecuted in the United States and that liberalism, feminism and homosexuality are destroying the country.

IMO anybody preaching of the dangers of damnation is preaching a philosophy of self hate and misery. Whether they wrap it up in inspiring language like Graham does or get vulgar about it like the Westboro baptists. At the heart of it is a fucked up world view that insists that people are inherrently dirty and evil and that only by following the prescriptions of this or that cult leader/preacher can you hope to not suffer in eternal hell.
